Went to Patong for Songkran yesterday and all I can say is I can't wait for next year! Rode my motorbike from across the other side of the island and all along the way we were splashed, doused, smeared and squirted, all in good fun. Got to Bangla Road (which was blocked off) and we parked ourselves at the Blue Lotus bar and proceeded to squirt everyone who walked past. This went on for 6 hours and nobody got sick of it. Great spot to watch everything, especially the katoeys across the road who stripped off during the day. Next year I plan to bring the heavy artillery to even a few scores. Ice-cold water as ammunition, too. For those brothers who have not experienced a Songkran I highly recommend it - a non-stop, all-day water fight!
