Noticed that the forum is getting slow, especially Phuket (which has always been a slow forum).
I'm considering going there mid-week sometime in next couple of weeks for a little break. Any useful updates on Patong scene, hotels, etc?
Anyone going to be there who'd like to meet for a drink?

Been said before but for location, service & value hard to beat Baipho/Baithong Hotels. You are getting into the high season, so not cheap now!

I'll stick to the info for others: CN still good deal. Bar fines are 300-500 depending on the soi. LT 2000-3000 depending on the greed of the girl. There are still wonderful diamonds in hidden coves for those willing to look. Going with the flow and just seeing what options came along led to a great trip.

I think you summed it up pretty well perfectly. You may have to look a little harder than in BK or certainly Pattaya but it's more laid back attitude makes it just as much fun. Glad you had a good time.

A quick update, Tiger Disco on Bangla Rd went up in flame a couple of days back. It is now closed, and many of the beer bars below are also out of action for some days. It was a good place to find FL after 2am. So, what left now are Taipan (still going strong) & Hollywood, both do not have cover charge.
