It's not exactly Soi 6 Patts, but depending on what you call fun, I quite like Kata. It has a nice beach and you will find several beer bars around the area. It makes a great escape from the madness that is Patong, and you should be able to hook up with someone from the beer bars, although you will find it very low key. Your competition will be Lars from Sweden who is about 60 years old....

I was in Kata in April. Action is only in the beer bars in Kata (not Kata Noi). It is a beer bar area on Kata Road at the intersection a few meters south to Taina Road.
BTW, "Taina" means "Secret" in Russian.
Mostly not good looking. But a couple of diamonds there.
