I think one of the things that has lessened my interest in P4P in Thailand is the attitude of the girls these days. Basically, they behave much more like whores these days. When I first discovered a taste for TG's, things were quite different.
Basically there was never a negotiation on price prior to the act, and I liked it that way, really was a GFE just with the bubble burst in the morning.
There was never LT or ST, you met a girl and paid the bar fine (100B, later 200B). That was it, she stayed with you until morning, and to be honest all day next day if you wanted. For that it was an accepted fee of 500B. If they stayed with you for days and were fed and watered and a bit of shopping they'd often be happy with 2000B for a week, or just pay their rent if it was that time of the month. Pouting about the price was rare, only a couple of times did a girl pout and ask for more. They both got an extra 100B, no need for hassles.
In those days the USD$ was 26B (I think, never changed any) and Sterling was 40B. 500B would be 12.50GBP
These days on the odd accassion I play (last time I visited BKK, not once), I still prefer not to discuss money up front, but I only really attempt this with a girl I know well, just don't need the drama afterwards.
Of course....I think it must be accepted that the farangs are as much to blame for this as anyone. Thailand has attracted far more guys who are really only there for the sex rather than the full experience. Many guys adopt the 'not paying them for sex, paying them to leave' philosophy. Either this or I just see things differently as I've got older, cos I certainly may most of them to leave these days, once out of the PB hotel doors, I wait to find which way they turn and I turn the other. The days the girls like to try to get through several customers a night, sorry, but sloppy seconds just ain't my style.
For me a LT price would be 1500B, which with the currecy changes would be 20GBP (not a huge increase over 15 years)
The world has changed, mobile phones are an essential tool for a BG, quality of housing has improved and this all has to be paid for and rightly so, in some repects I'm pleased that the girls have empowered themselves to take more charge of their earning capacity, everyone wants to do the best for themselves and that's fair enough.
Just a shame things had to change from my point of view...for the worse.

I had two (not one ) offer themselves...pay bar fine and eating every day and tip 250 a day ok ok...theres a farang crisis in pattaya right now...but sure, the themae days and illusionary spells of no money talk are almost gone....but so is the naievity of those that miss it. there are still lots of girls with which you do not have to discuss prices beforehand, neither to discuss if it is st or lt. they decide when they leave and the money is in their purse. but not all are like them, you just have to look for them.

i agree with yurune! since the inception and wide use of mobile phones things have gotten a bit to business minded!
these days I rather prefer the still more relaxed attitude of the indonesian or philli girls. nevertheless still some relaxed no money grabbing girls around, may be not as many as before the mobile boom, but still enough who prefer a good laugh and some sanook over the ultimate money return! these days even pattaya does get some appeal to me as there no so many mobiles around yet, and tehrefore still a bit more relaxed.

I think a lot of good points in the above posts. Agree with Griffin that both Indonesia (in particular Jakarta) & Philippines are both more like LOS was 10 years back, unfortunately the Mobile phone & the influence of the outside world s changing things pretty rapidly!
