I have made these observations in btf and to friends.
I think upcountry the veteran Bg's are schooling the farm fresh on all the scams, kind of like what the Internet has done for the punters. The new girls are well schooled and know the lay of the land. As a result the GFE/sanook is gone and it is all about money. Also too many Farang trash scammers here too. This could be only at the farang venues.
Your thoughts would be appreciated on the status of the GFE today in Thailand.

Yes, Sir! The crux of the topic is the Internet has helped draw more punters and make the punter more savvy to the P4P system in LOS. There is an opposite cottage information system upcountry educating and drawing the girls into the riches of the P4P sector. As a result a gold rush mentality has emerged and the quality sanook factor or GFE often talked about on BTF has diminished over the years.

really, the game has changed.... once the cell phone was able to be owned by everyone, there was no need to work in go go bars anymore.
And email helped seal the deal.
So a girl works, builds up a set of regulars including a sponsor or two and then she works it from that aspect.
So, yes, the girls are not as pretty because the pretty ones are sitting in an apartment working their 'boys' via SMS, email and text.
Another reason we feel the girls are not as pretty is because we are old hands here. We have become jaded. I used to think the Isaan girls really were pretty and the white skinned bkk girls were not.... But now my taste has changed... maybe looking for more than a simple girl? I guess so, but I married an Isaan girl. I think I did that for the sex. You know the old saying..... "one you wed, one you bed".

After having spent the better part of the past year in Isaan, I can affirm there is a constant quest from the small village we are located in, to find and obtain a farang.
Many neighbors ask my wife how their daughter can get a rich (??) farang like she did. Her answer is generally not to send the daughter to Sin City on the Sea but to try the internet for a real lasting relationship.
I just keep my mouth shut, other than to tell the ugly ones to stay at home.

LOL. DD's posts got deleted! He finally started to annoy BK too. Well, this post of mine maybe should be deleted too... but hey, it makes you think that there is hope afterall when DD's posts start to get deleted. Way to go BK!
Now on the matter at hand, not only is the Internet to blame, but also the mobile phone. Girls now can trade better. They can plan ahead. Thus they are less willing to go for LTs for example. Now it has really become a commodity both ways: for the men, a girl to please him; and for the girl a man to get money from.
