10,000 words seems pretty short for a final year dissertation, which is what you seem to suggest it is. Mine was 25,000 words and was on plastic mouldings, not quite as sexy a topic!!
How are you going to get the prostitute perspective of this argument. Cant see your tutor agreeing to you doing any "research" in Nana or Cowboy. Also prostitutes can be men or ladyboys as well as women. Are you going to look at it from their perspective?
Seems like this is just going to be a whole lot of forum board plagiarism. Still if it gets you your degree, good luck.

In your trips to LOS, were you ever able to get any useful information regarding BGs? I would suspect that the prostitution around the katoey scene didn't supply anything in this area.

Is this your undergraduate report, Masters thesis or PhD dissertation? From your posting, it appears to me that it is neither a Masters thesis nor a PhD dissertation.
For an undergraduate report, you should start with a good "literature survey", i.e what has already been published in the peer reviewed journals. Then you can conclude some generalisation from those published articles and, if possible, extrapolate from those generalisation to predict. To add more values, you may simply contradict or support some of these generlisations with data, statistics (e.g hypothesis testing, regression analysis, classification, discriminant analysis, etc.), etc. but this will be to much for an undergraduate report, and it will certainly qualify for a Masters thesis.
A PhD dissertation is entirely a new ball game. If you have done a Masters thesis, you have some ideas where to start and it will certainly involve extensive literature survey. Here are the points for a PhD dissertation:
1. A PhD dissertation is a hypothesis or conjecture.
2. A PhD dissertation is a lengthy, formal document that argues in defense of a particular thesis.
3. They should be "`original'' and ``substantial.'' In particular, a dissertation highlights original contributions.
4. The scientific method means starting with a hypothesis and then collecting evidence to support or deny it. Before one can write a dissertation defending a particular thesis, one must collect evidence that supports it. Thus, the most difficult aspect of writing a dissertation consists of organizing the evidence and associated discussions into a coherent form.
5. The essence of a dissertation is critical thinking, not experimental data. Analysis and concepts form the heart of the work.
6. A dissertation concentrates on principles: it states the lessons learned, and not merely the facts behind them.
7. In general, every statement in a dissertation must be supported either by a reference to published scientific literature or by original work. Moreover, a dissertation does not repeat the details of critical thinking and analysis found in published sources; it uses the results as fact and refers the reader to the source for further details.
8. Each sentence in a dissertation must be complete and correct in a grammatical sense. Moreover, a dissertation must satisfy the stringent rules of formal grammar (e.g., no contractions, no colloquialisms, no slurs, no undefined technical jargon, no hidden jokes, and no slang, even when such terms or phrases are in common use in the spoken language). Indeed, the writing in a dissertaton must be crystal clear. Shades of meaning matter; the terminology and prose must make fine distinctions. The words must convey exactly the meaning intended, nothing more and nothing less.
9. Each statement in a dissertation must be correct and defensible in a logical and scientific sense. Moreover, the discussions in a dissertation must satisfy the most stringent rules of logic applied to mathematics and science.
The above statements are true for the American Education Systems and I think it is also true for the education systems in most of the countries.
I used to sell Masters thesis when I was in undergraduate and I did a PhD to find out what it takes to write a PhD dissertation. In the USA, you must get B or more in 90 credit hours of Graduate courses before you can even submit a PhD dissertation. I have heard in some countries, you can simply write a dissertation and submit to your dissertation commitee of an university to get a PhD.

Thanks alot to those who have posted!
but, I think I should clear up a few things:
in no particular order:
the email.katoey was given to me by a friend who I used to go hunting with in LOS. Not that I went hunting for katoey, but he thought it would be amusing to sign me up to gmail with that... cheers to him :-/
tigercode?? I have no idea who that is. Ive been a member of bkktonite for afew years, and went to a rt in I think April 2002, where I met BK and Pinga among others. Being pretty young, hopefully I was memorable... perhaps not :- (
this is my undergrad dissertation for Sociology. (yes, a useless subject, but hey, I go to school to study BGs!)
I have no intention of running Sex Tourism operations to LOS or anywhere else. I try to follow Thaksin great way with politics, and well, I find him interesting to say the least. (dont want to start a political flaming  )
It probably would be best for me to interview the girls, but time/money restraints rear their ugly head, although I will be putting in from personal experiences of TGs and much fun at Nana and Grace
