Hey guys, don't be too quick to jump on every newbie who asks a strange question as a new incarnation. Maybe yes, but I didn't think so from the OP. But you've got to allow a certain amount of slack. The only thing I'm curious at this point is why BK doesn't block the IP in question from the Forum? Sock puppetry and trollish behaviour is a bannable offence on most Boards.

it may be difficult to block the IP address, as each time you connect to the internet via an ISP you are almost always allocated a different IP address each time - albeit from the ISP's range of probably thousands

My point was that newbie's are going to ask dumb questions a lot of the time. ŬIf they come out and ask a question to be controversial and then counter what they said in their OP, a la B1, then okay, take them to task. ŬIf they just ask a dumb question then politely point out it's a dumb question. ŬThey develop a pattern, fine, let 'em have it. ŬBut if we hammer every newbie that asks a dumb or innocent question, then we won't get much new blood here.
As for blocking the IP, I guess it depends on how they log to the 'Net. ŬSome ways would make it impossible. ŬIn that case DNFTT is the best policy.

I do agree somewhat with seubeu's point about newbie dumb questions. I myself are relatively new, however i did a lot of reading from this forum beforehand, and have learnt a fair amount doing so.

seubeu, I agree with you.... but B1 is so -but so dumb, that he/she is actually fun. So sometimes it is difficult not to try poking fun at him. Yes, sometimes we may make mistakes and label someone wrongly. I will be the first one to apologize when and if that happens.
Hey! Even once a thread that I started, someone thought that it was from B1 cuz of the title  I gave that person a hard time (jokingly) on following posts. ŬIt is all in good fun

Most of the newbies that came on and asked a dumb question right off the bat were flamed, and told to read through the threads first. Especialy the newbie FRQ's. Now the way I see it is " if it looks like shit, and feels like shit, and smells like shit, it's shit. " Trying to sugar coat it, is'nt going to help it bro. I really do try not to be an asshole to people, however I try not to wade through shit barefooted either.
