The crazy thing about that crazy list is that it is 'in the eyes of the thais' anywhere else it is normal behaviour, so who's the fcuked up strange behaved minority.

From that list, not everything is normal behaviour anywhere else...eg.
1) Lie in the sun.
- this is not so prevalent among people from some countries in Africa and Asia, I believe.
2) Take photos of Tuk-tuks
- other than in India, I can't think of any other countries where we can take photos of tuk-tuks, simply because there are none.
4) Take photos of the traffic jams
- okay, how many people do we know take photos of jams in LA, London or Tokyo, etc.?
5) Wear string around their wrist
- hmmm...don't think I saw any of that among the natives when I was in Lebanon...
7) Wai positively everyone they meet
- Other than in India (again), and maybe Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, which other country has something similar to the wai?
8) Eat with just a fork
- and a knife. Not to mention a spoon for pasta. And for soup. Chopsticks are used in Oriental countries and also a fork and spoon in most Southeast Asian countries, especially for rice dishes. So eating with just a fork is not a norm outside Thailand.
10) Drink beer without ice
- Beer with ice is drunk in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam I think..and uhh, among some in singapore and malaysia...
12) Tip taxi drivers and barbers
- Not in Singapore, ya don't. not barbers anyway.
13) Get drunk in public
- True, other countries have this, but some are more prevalent than others.
14) Leave their beautiful countries to come and live in Thailand
- depends on which country one orginally comes from, and the circumstances in one's life, etc.
17) Eat the skin of an apple
- I do, but I know some non-Thais who don't.
19) Kiss and hug old friends
- for some people from some countries, hug yes, kiss no.
So there you go, my two satangs. okay back to the topic.

Geeez jafa, I think it went over your head…
1) Lie in the sun.
Well I would say that the majority of ‘countries’ like to lay in the sun, probably not the majority of the population though.
Thais and a lot of asian people do not want the dark skin, they want what everyone else wants, what they cannot have, white skin.
So why is it strange behaviour to lay in the sun, it is not, it is strange for thais to think it is not normal, only because they have very narrow views on things and think anything they don’t do or like is stupid. Why do thais like to rub whitening lotion (glorified sunscreen) on themselves so much. Who are the strange ones now on this subject, nobody really, each to their own, but if they want to view it as strange and stupid, then I figure they are the whackos for being so narrow minded.
2) Take photos of Tuk-tuks
What is so strange about foreigners in a strange country taking photos of strange forms of transport. Do thais go to Melbourne in Australia and take photos of trams and are they seen as wierdo’s.
3) Chase Thai girls that no respecting Thai man would look at
this ones funny, I have seen some thai guys with damn ugly girls, I have seen thai guys with damn ugly farang girls as well, girls that would never get a the first look back home, let alone a second one.
4) Take photos of the traffic jams
Same as above, when Bangkok is renowned for the best traffic jams in the world, maybe so maybe not, but when the smog and the sunset combine and the traffice is piled up 5 wide in a 3 lane road and the smoke and smog rises as far as the eye can see, hey it makes a good photo and if that is not the norm back in your country, then what is so strange about it. Maybe the thais when they are on vacation, they take photos of deserted streets and clear skies somewhere.
5) Wear string around their wrist
What is weird about this, Thais get these as well, we are given them by monks on special occasions. Is it strange because they see farang wearing them and they think they have no idea what it is for. Perhaps ignorance shining through. Maybe we should throw them away when a monk wants to place one on your arm, lets see what response that will get.
6) Wear fake Rolex or Gucci watches
This is fair enough, I don’t understand it either, but to each there own. Some reasons are that they look exactly the same, some people even experts cannot tell the difference. If it is an ego or ‘show’ thing, what the hell. Thais have a huge appetite for showing how good or wealthy they are. I was told once that I could not go to talk to a wealthy thai in relation to a block of land he had for sale, because I did not look rich. He then said that if I was dressed in gold etc, I would have no problem, even if I did not have a brass razoo to my name, how pretentious is that and who should be embarrassed more about such behaviour.
7) Wai positively everyone they meet
This usually is exaggerated because of the foreigners understanding of the complexity of the wai, I still don’t get it 100%, but most think it as a general greeting, they don’t understand the social order and respect procedures that go with it. I agree it is silly to watch a farang wai everyone, but if he does not know, what can he do, he thinks he is doing the right thing and until he learns and understands completely, he does not want to offend anyone. Maybe if thais think this is stupid, they could be a little more tolerant of peoples lack of knowledge and proper conduct in a complex society. After all, have you ever seen a thai in another country embarrassed when doing things, I have many times, but it is the same lack of local cultural happenings, all gathered over time rather than on a 5 day holiday.
8) Eat with just a fork
So what, our table utensils have developed a little further than 2 sticks.
9) Request no ice in drinks
Up to the individual I guess.
10) Drink beer without ice
A thai tradition to keep the beer cold, but sacrilege in other beer drinking countries. They would get the same looks of stupidity if they go to Oz and put ice in their beer in the local pub, they would get promptly thrown out on their nose perhaps.
11) Hold hands in the street

12) Tip taxi drivers and barbers
Again, so what, thais do not generally tip, this is a custom brought in from our American friends, so on one hand you say the thias think we are weird for doing it, but they accept it no problem. Or is the problem that it is the tipping of barbers and taxis, if that’s the case you forgot boot polishers and shoe repair shops. I guess all considered very low class people, again a thai problem of extreme class behaviour and racism, should we consider ourselves strange because we generally do not have such obnoxious views of how one person is so much better than another because of his breeding or monetary value.
13) Get drunk in public
Never seen a thai drunk in public, never, how strange.
14) Leave their beautiful countries to come and live in Thailand
Again, its all about what you have and what you want. People tend to want other things than what they have, white skin against brown, money against poor, a new house against old, blonde hair against black. They perceive our countries as being the best, because they cannot have it, we are the same, we want to live somewhere else sometimes where we cannot get or do the things we want back home.
15) Succumb to the 'attractions' of Patpong
The only one I agree with.
16) Wear shorts away from the beach
Fine, this may be a cultural, but can someone please explain ‘why’ it is such a thing to be looked down upon ?
17) Eat the skin of an apple
Yes and why don’t they, I don’t know. Perhaps they do not realise the skin and just under it is the best and most nutritious part. A we to blame for someone elses ignorance, are we strange for this.
18) Feel sorry for the stray dogs
I don’t know anyone who feels sorry for soi dogs, I would volunteer for roundup duty if it involved crossbows and blow pipes laced with poisons. On the other hand, how many thais have you seen feeding these filthy mongrels and operating shelters for them.
19) Kiss and hug old friends
I like to kiss and hug new ones as well. If showing public affection is so weird and looked down upon by thais as disgusting, then why is it that this attitude has changed so much in the last 6 years, why is it that when a thai goes to another country and sees this openly and supportively, they also embrace it in that country and a little more so back home in los.
20) Tell racist jokes
I think it may be better to joke about it, than take it seriously as part of everyday life. Do you know what the word for farang is re birdy doo doo, how do they treat their staff and lower class countrymen. Try sitting on the bts next time when you have say a seat either side of you being a farang and watch how many other seats get taken up before anyone will take these last 2 seats, try it.

Sure, a love affair with a TG (BG or not) will very likely fail sooner or later. This will not be a happy experience.
But this needs to be put in perspective. A love affair with anyone at all is also likely to fail - and that won't be a happy experience either.
Most guys do it the sensible way. They fall for a girl with the same cultural background, the same educational level, plenty to talk about, etc etc. How often do they end up riding into the sunset to live happily ever after? Even if they make it to the altar, their marriage may be so intolerable that they eventually have to ditch it. Look at the Western divorce statistics, and then wonder how many 'successful' marriages are no bed of roses either.
Most love affairs end in disappointment - it's just the way it is. You can keep other people at arm's distance to protect yourself, or you can learn to take your emotional knocks like a grown man should. One advantage of falling for a BG is that you KNOW it can't last - so you're less likely to skewer yourself on the fairy story that love is forever. I think that as soon as you start casting a girl - any girl - as 'the one', you're very probably riding for a nasty fall.
