Village headman is "pooyaibahn". Kamnan is a bit higher up the ladder. Several pooyaibahn may report into a Kamnan, as is the case in my wife's village (there is a village east, west, north, and south, each a "moobahn," that together comprise the composite village that is overseen by the kamnan; each moobahn has its own pooyaibahn, as in the case of my wife's village area).
Higher up still is "Oboto" who is in charge of groups of Kamnan in a region called a "tambon." My Thai wife's dad was a pooyaiban for 4 years (elected for 4 year cycles) and recently tried also for the higher position, "Oboto," but was not elected as I didn't dump tons of money into his vote buying, er, election campaign, lol. In retrospect, dumping more baht into his campaign woulda been smart, as he would have gotten a decent monthly paycheck from the government.

Yes, Central Bang Na (in the basement parking lot).
The last time a GF applied for her passport was abouyt 4 years ago and it needed 3-4 days to finish.
It was sent by post though.
Don't know if 1 day service is available nowadays.

I've been outta the loop about that same amount of time, lol, so he might find this of interest in our shared time machine. Hmmm, sounds like I really oughta get back to BKK one of these days, just too busy with the missus and her son here in the States at the moment. Maybe next year a little getaway at the Nana hotel to hang out "by the pool," ha!

there isw a store inside the building... sells beer.... it took all day when I was there. By the time the paperwork was finished, I was pissed out of my mind. Just sat there all day drinking. Very inefficient systam.
