I noticed that many of the girls I took on my recent trip had hair extensions. You can feel many little mini-braids in the back of their head underneath the hair. In my previous yrs, I have only noticed a handful of girls had these extensions, but this time it seemed the majority.
One girl had a full on wig and while I was banging her, she kept one hand on her head the entire time in case the wig came off (actually a pretty comical sight). Afterwards I asked her why she did that and she told me she had on a wig. She then told me she would show me her real hair and proceeded to take out the multiple hairpins in her hair. As she got closer and closer, I grew more and more tentative to what I was about to see. Was she going to be fully bald? Would she have only patches of hair on her head? Would I be able to handle what I saw? Then the moment became the moment and she took off the wig, I scrambled closer to see and as I processed the visual, I saw that underneath was matted down hair and when she shook it loose.... A FULL set of normal hair!!! WTF?
What was even the purpose? Why she would cover up her beautiful hair with a wig of beautiful hair and she said that she is too lazy sometimes to make up her hair (with curls and twists) so she will stick on the wig that is already beautiful. I asked her how long to make up her hair - 30 minutes. How long to tuck her hair in, put on the wig, the multiple pins, etc - 20 minutes.
Had to shake my head on that one....

LOS is one of those countries where the girls are particularly prone to these fads, most of them pretty idiotic, but some of them positive.
Perhaps it is wrong to call braces a "fad," but it seemed to be something that was catching the last time I was there. Just like the short short haircut, kind of a bob, longer on the sides, shorter in the back. Applaud the former, fine with the latter. But the point is, when enough girls do it, and we hit the tipping point, it seems everyone has to do it.
As for the hair extensions TD, have to agree, pretty damn stupid. TGs already have some of the most beautiful hair in the world. Why bother? Oh, right, because other girls are doing it....

It's not only in Thailand, chicks seem to do this all over the world now... very fashionable
