Better not popularize that, or a lot of guy's in BKK will be calling you 'banana', since apparently quite a few folks feel the best way to have a meaningful relationship with a Thai girl is to start by distrusting her.
Reminds me of a FAQ on another page, dealing with how to get along and relate to BGs -- every third or so bulletpoint was "She's not your girlfriend!"

We at TPE get asked quite often if we can conduct a "Lie Detector Test" on some person somewhere and we have allways declined. Until now!
With the introduction of new more accurate (Digital) Poligraph equipment the results are much more accurate.
But it all depends upon the operator of the equipment.
Specialized training is essential and that is the key here.
We currently have other methods that are less obvious and more covert that achieve a satisfactory result, for a lot less money.
But if you insist on going High Tech then PM me and I will point you in the right direction.
Don't get me wrong we don't have the equipment in place nor the expertise to operate it yet! But we are moving in that direction.

Here's what I don't get with the mind-set of those wanting to use lie detector tests on their tilacs -- isn't the whole point of an investigation to be covert, and to find out if there is dishonesty, without tipping her off that she's being investigated?
So, you get her hooked up to a lie detector test :
- She's lying, and gets exposed -- total loss of face follows, tears, etc.... You dump her. okay.
- She's telling the truth -- you're happy, she screams at you how you don't trust her, and she dumps your ass (as she should). okay?
Seems to me there is more to lose in this idiotic of course of action, than to gain. As TPE pointed out, there are less expensive and more covert means of finding out the truth.

I disagree.
The girls distrust the men as much. I think if both parties take the test then why is there a loss of face?
Take a guy that has been sending money to some girl for several months. He comes over and finds out if she has been having sex with others and she can find out if he has been loyal to her.
Lets face it, you are not meeting these women in church or at some work related event. These women are adept at deception and to the same extent many of the men are as well.
I just dont see the logic in blind trust given the nature of their profession and their ambivilance towards sex.

Hopefully your girl will have enough self respect to ship you off as well.
Anyone talking about lie detector tests has absolutely no idea about the Thai psyche.

I wonder if a lie detector would even work on TGs, since they don't feel any sort of anxiety or nervousness when lying, it's just words
I think some actually want to believe the stories they tell also, to the point that a lie detector might not pick up on what is false and what is not 
not that it matters, as she might slap you one & will definitely walk if you even try to administer a test
reminds me of a saying : Don't ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies

I don't think anyone's advocating blind trust, but likewise, if someone is considering a serious relationship (birthing kids qualifies), then a foundation of distrust is the worst way to start.
Maybe those giving lie detector tests should make it mandatory that both sides have to take the test - I have a feeling that suddenly there is less insistence on such a test.
"Have you been sleping with other farang while your tilac was away?"
"No, only love my tilac..."
"That is a lie"
"Have you told her the truth about your background, your job, and your financial situation"
"Why, of course I have told her that I'm rich, well-educated, and never cheat on her"

Have you ever tried to establish for certain even the most basic facts with a Thai? For example, try to find out exactly what time today they arrived at work.
Throw in the two dozen "normal" layers that get in the way of normal communication, factor in the cultural, social and language differences and the best you can hope for is something "close" to the truth.
Keep in mind that the lie detector was designed to detect lies my measuring the emotional reactions of farangs.
To quote from the "Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy" - I wouldn't trust that thing to speak my weight."
