I think this is the most interesting statement in this thread, and the responses are quite telling. I mean, it's no surprise that it appears like playing around yourself is a lot of fun, but would you permit the same liberties to you TG? It's no surprise that this is hypocritical, but I would be far more interested *WHY* is it that the respondents in this thread feel that being thusly hypocritical is somehow okay...? (and don't give me the tried and tired "Men are biologically programmed to spread their seed!" bullshit)
Quote: from bkkfella on 5:06 pm on April 7, 2005 Actually the reason we males tend to cheat is deeply biological. Richard Dawkins, the emminent scientist, explains in his books that males of all species are driven to pass their genes to the next generation so his genes will survive. He does this by passing his sperm to and mating with as many fertile females as possible. That is as many as he is strong enough and powerful enough to attract to agree to mate with him. A women on the other hand insures her genes survive by protecting the very few eggs she has and nurturing them so they will survive the rigors of life's competition. For this she needs a man's sperm, support and protection. This is why, except for curious female teenagers, women are not as promiscuous as men.
You might want to update your views with more than one single source. SUbsequent research has indicated that not only is this 'male drive' not as prevalent as males would have you believe, but that women are just as promiscuous, if not actually more so, in their search for a wide variety of potential suitors. The criteria for suitors are different between the genders, and women tend to be more discrete (i.e. they don't go running around proclaiming it's their biological destiny), but bear in mind that the vast majority of marriages dissolve because of infidelity, and that male vs. female infidelity are spread quite evenly. Claiming that males cheat because they are biologically programmed is no different than claiming you did something because you were drunk... alcohol's not the reason, it's an excuse. Ditto for biology. YMMV. Dr. von Quack!

I think the point the BKK fella was trying to highlight in his post was what was initially discussed by Dawkins in a selfish gene regarding genetic individual theory and how it meant male and female species were created / evolved. Males exploited females. They reduced the size of their gametes therefore using far less energy to produce them and forcing the females to increase the size of their gametes. That is 1 sperm and 1 egg. In the case of humans, a man could theoretically impreganate 1000 women + in the time it take a women to have one child so therefore theoretically the female has to be very careful when chooseing a mate. But you know that smeggy. However, when applying this to humans and levels of expected promiscuity in females/males it falls down because you have to consider sociological factors. As humans we very rerely have sex to procreate. Sex really is a recreational activity and it's biological importance in the modern world is reducing all the time. You don't even need to have sex to have kids. And also as Humans we are capable of not listening to our genes for example there are many who actively choose not to have children. So to try and relate feelings of guilt through unfaithfulness to biological matters I believe is flawed. I think feelings of guilt in the west come from our judeo - christian background which affects our culture significantly even if we have no religious beliefs. Many asians for example regardless of religion have no guilt. There are even tribes in Africa where it is the culture that is you have a male guest staying you should offer your wife to him.

You boys have way to much time on your hands. When you live the unexamined life, it's easy to fall asleep at night.

My TGF and I have been seeing each other for almost 2 yrs. I met her in the UK and I live in the US. Just todayI bought her a one-way ticket to BKK. There we will be starting F-visa paperwork. I spoke to her over one yr ago that I desire to go to BKK once a year for the next 4 or five by myself. I told her this to give her the option to leave me if she wants to. She had done some brief P4P at a UK sauna--where I met her. I told her this clause will be in the pre nup. I just got back from a 10 day solo trip and had no prob. There was some noted jealousy but it passed. We are cont with our relationship plans and could not be happier. I still cannot find anyone more beautiful than her but have a need for the BKK scene. In short be honest and be prepared for the answer.

Some of us just stay single because we know there is no possible way or desire to stay faithful. I guess some of you want your cake and eat it to, however, life sure is a whole lot more simple with both legs on the single mans side of the fence. A straight forward care free life.

Yes, some of us want to have the cake, the cherry, the icing on the cake, the coffee, the ice cream and eat them all ! It's a full plate, and you could blow up, but hey, you won't be hungry !
