Hermano, guys come here with all sorts of preconceptions and preconditioning.
And Thai women come in all varieties of good, indifferent and bad, and have their own set of blinkers and blinders.
What happens, ultimaately, depends on the individuals, and not any aphorisms old or new. Does a cross-cultural relationship have risks inherent that a nationally or ethnically homogenous one, doesn't? Yes. But look at the 50+% divorce rate in USA, so how can one be surprised at whatever happens?
I'm divorced from my Japanese first wife, married for only 3 years, but, have been together with my Thai wife for 5 times that long. Here in Bangkok. Would that have happened if I'd taken her back to USA? Maybe not. I dunno, a different set of pressures and priorities.
But she's wonderful and I think those who disparage Thailand and Thai women, deserve to be disparaged themselves.

Hello all
I plan on going back. Can;t wait actually. My 1st trip was a learning experance so not quite as enjoyable has My 2nd one will be cause all the worrys are now gone or easily dealt with. My next trip will be spent more on haveing fun instead of learning what the hells going on.
Has for Burnout on Thailand I guess it could happen about anything you do in Excess But if kept in moderation I don;t think It will ever get Boring

Bandit - I said in my first post that the words 'Thailand' and 'Bar' are interchangeable and are often used as such.

The people I know who live with a Thai girl in Thailand generally have a successful relationship. The ones that bring their girls to Farangland are the ones with the problems. This is of course not a statistically accurate sample. Just an observation.

Have got this 'been there done that feeling' at the moment. Maybe the stress of the Western World still in the system ??
Lost a close friend to a heart attack this year and this English lad was my sole motivator for visiting.
Place does not seem the same without his humour and wisdom ? I BF'ed last night -nice girl but my enthusiasm had gone.
I hope this feeling does not last.
Maybe the West has made me too jaded?
