For all the members who are coming in Thailand for so many years, you should know how the thai are acting. If the girl asks you for 3,000 or 4,000 ST or LT, she is just having a try, same as the seller in Patpong proposing his T-shirts at 600 bahts or the watches at 3,000 bahts. If you know the real price, you'll never pay these unbelieval rates. And if you tell them how much you're gonna pay (and if it is really the fair rate), they'll sell you without problems.
That's the same for the girls. There are so many men coming from USA, Australia, Europe looking for a f_ck with a young girl and ready to pay any amount just be laid (maybe the only f_ck they had since last year visit !). If you compare to our homecountry, that may be cheap but that's not the Thai rates. That's how the prices have inflated so much in past years, especially in tourists places like Patpong and now Nana.
Don't forget that YOU have the choice to go or not with this girl and there are so many girls that you can just go for an other if the one you are talking with is still asking for 5,000 ST. AN other girl will certianly be so happy to go with you for 1,000 LT as that's already a good amount of money for her.
Obviously we are talking here about girls you can find in gogobars, biergardens or farang-discos.
It's an other story for high-class girls as you can find in Piano, Pegasus, or other places.

That's my philosophy; for me, the "up to you" leaves too much room for misunderstanding in the morning. ŬI can see the point that it can remove incentives for great performances, but I view repeat business as the incentive. ŬIf it really is fantastic, can always pay more. And those are the price points I use.

I still prefer my approach which is to not discuss price up front. ŬIf a girl even mentions it, eg, "How much you pay?" or "Give me xxx ST / xxx LT" I blow them off immediately. ŬEven if it is in the range I would usually pay them. ŬThey've made their point that they are strictly business but none of mine.
When the deed is done I slip them the going rate by leaving next to or under their purse, poking out so they can't miss it. ŬThis while they're washing up or whatever. ŬIn all the time I've been doing this I've only had one girl complain (in Pattaya) when I tried to get off with 1000 on a ST. ŬShe said she usually gets 1500 for a ST and since she was quite the wild child anyway, I didn't think the extra 500 baht was worth an argument. ŬSo I apologized and paid up.
Normally I give 1000 Pattaya / 1500 BKK for STs (I don't do LT). But I only take the hottest chicks out of gogos.

When I know the environment (standard prices), as Saitnyen, me too I prefer not to discuss about money right away...
But when I don't know, I always make it sure if I can afford it.
If it is too much for my pocket, I kindly deny the offer and I never bargain because I don't believe that 500b more will improve any performance.
The quality of performance depends on chemistry, not on money.
And if there was anything special with that girl that you denied yesterday, she'll be back tomorrow with a more reasonable offer...

in Pattaya never pay more than 500bt s/t 1000 l/t but sometimes 500 l/t.
i always end up with the bg i want,not into l/t from go gos.its not all about looks but as previously said the chemistry is important for good fun between the sheets.
sometimes it is nice to have a change from stunners but i never end up with dogs!!

As already said by someone else it takes the shine off it to discus the price up front it destroys the Girl friend image.
I know what the going rates are for ST or LT and will pay accordingly with maybe a bit extra if the service was good will also take them for la late Lunch if they wish. (as I tend to only wake up in the afternoon) If I wish to just go for the sex I prefer the soapys or E*dens.

I think this has been mentioned many times but do not try to be a cheap Charlie. In Pattaya or elsewhere 1000 baht for a long time is Cheap!!!
There is the saying to remember 'If you have to ask the price... You cant afford it.'

The issue here is to agree on a price before hand or afterward - your own experience on what works best for you is really the only guide. Having tried both - before works for me. Afterward works better for others - so be it.
Also there are so many factors involved in what is the correct price on that night for that girl that arguments over the actual price agreed on are pointless.
And finally those bringing strong currencies (US Dollars, Sterling; Japenese Yen etc) to Thailand really have a cheek calling the rest of us cheap charlies - I pay 1500 LT with only the Australian "pesco" to back it up - therefore the actual "cost" to me is the same as those currencies paying around 2500 to 3000 LT. When they are regularly paying more than that then they can call me "cheap charlie"....
