I agree entirely with griff. If you want to keep out of trouble, just pay her properly and make sure she takes it. If necessary, stick the dough in her bag when she's not looking. OK, if you know a girl well and your relationship's acquired a bit of give-and-take, you can accept the occasional freebie, but it's not clever to make a habit of it. She mustn't be allowed to confuse the GFE for the real thing any more than you should. Be as lovey-dovey as you like, but PAY her.
I think babanana's right - on longish trysts, it's usual practice to settle up at the end. Of course, if she needs (or asks for) some spending money along the way, you should give it to her. One of the glories of Thai P4P is that the 'business' can be handled as subtly as you want, but at the end of the day the money does need to be there.
The jealousy thing's a lot trickier, because you don't need to be brain-dead to cause mortal offence. Sooner or later everyone attracts a permanent scar or two. You can minimise the risks by obeying the 'rules' (eg, same-bar butterflying) and making some effort to keep your BGs out of each other's faces. A little tact and discretion go a long way, and an exceptionally devious mind helps.
If all precautions fail, and you find you've got a berzerk BG (or any Thai for that matter) on your hands, the best policy is nearly always to flee the scene asap. Nothing you can say will do any good - when they lose it, they lose it. And you should never assume that some tiny, fragile little girl can't possibly do you any serious damage, because she bloody well can.
I very nearly got half my ear bitten off by an irate BG once* - in the end, I had to burn her off with a lighter. An awful lot of people have similar tales to tell.
* Moral: a special effort should be made not to provoke your BG while she's in mid-BJ. Believe me, those teeth are sharp and those jaws are a helluva lot more powerful than they look.

I'll pile on with Arcadius (always worth reading), Walley, expatchuck, and mokewen, plus others: I think you ripped her off, and she had cause to be angry. She was carrying your tab, and you owed it to her to pay when it was due. Episodes like this, either intentional or out of ignorance, can ruin it for others - what's the chance that the next guy might hear "pay in advance". No matter how GF'ish it seems, just remember, it's a business, and she has a right to expect a salary for time worked. And to cause them to lose face, you're cruising for a bruising.
Believe me, you don't want to learn the meaning of "feed the ducks" first hand.

Responding to the original question about bad experiences....
A few years ago a bunch of us were staying at Club Andaman on the outskirts of Patong. Normally we'd have a few liveners in the hotel & jump in a tuk-tuk bound for Bangla Rd, but on this particular night, we decided that we would walk and take in a few of the bars en-route.
Anyway, we walked into the first bar, had a beer & started to play the normal bar games. The standard of BGs was pretty average, apart from one, henceforth known as 'red vest'. She was much taller than the rest, wore a red cap-sleeve t-shirt (hence the nickname), great body, proudly showing a Bon Jovi-like tatoo on her arm......and absolutely dripping with attitude. She was an attitude queen - beautiful & knew it. A few guys tried to get her come come over - no chance, and offers to buy her a drink got the same response.
For some reason, she took a bit of a shine to me & came and stood behind me. I took the hint, bought the beer & chatted for a while. It seemed that I had been selected by red vest.
The BF was a no-brainer, but the tour rules for the night were 'you can BF, but you take with you until 1AM' so I explained those & we continued on our merry way to Bangla Rd, leaving red vest & her Heinken in the bar.
Certainly didn't see anything remotely better on Bangla so wandered back at 1am. She was still there (good) but had obviously continued drinking at something like the pace we were on (not so good) & the attitude had been turned up onto full (good & not so good) but we went back to U2 Bar together.
She was holding onto the bar & chatting with the other BGs so I stood outside doing the same with my mates. I turned round 5 mins later to see her with her arms round some bloke, legs wrapped round his waste. If they didn't know each other before, they certainly did now!
Oh well I thought, win some lose some, so I crossed the road to have a beer outside Soi Easy - the outdoor bar opposite the chemist.
The next thing I saw was red vest literally running aross Bangla Rd in my direction (good), she looked mad (not so good). She was wielding a bottle of Heineken by the neck (bad) and had a go at sinking it into my skull (about as bad as it gets). Somehow she missed and thanks to me sobering up in an instant, the finely tuned negotiation skills of a Henry Kissinger & a timely intervention by my mates, a disater was averted.
Never did quite understand red vest & can't say I've been in that bar since.
Oh, & yes, I did pay her......

I have a good story only that this happed to me in Rio, Brazil and not Bangkok. Most of trips have been short timers after the experience.
I had gone on a 2 week trip to Rio last August and the first few nights I pickup a lot of women from Help disco and banged them and it was bye bye in the morning.
Then aftre the 4th day I hoold up with this girl and she was so good in bed and also very possisive. It almots felt so perfect. So from that time till the end of my trip I stayed with her.
It was a fantastic GF experience and everything was going fine as I made it very clear that I would pay her X $ every night that she spent with me and there was problem on the cash front.
Then sh*t happened, I got bumped of my plane as I had frequnt flier tickets and I had to stay and extra week. I had sufficient cash for hotel and her so there was no problem.
But then she started to bum me out as she wanted me to buy her stuff, like clother, shoes etc. At first I said no way. But we are all suckers and finally fall. So then I ended up buying her a pair of shoes.
Then she wanted more, she was trying to hit me up to even finance he Boob job. I said what the f*ck this is getting out of control but resisted eveything other than for occasional gifts. Finally my vacation was over and I left.
Somehow it seems that she got hold of one of my business card and called me at my home number. Out of the blues there was a message saying that she missed me. I was stupid and called back.
That was it after few days there was a bloody crying message on my answering message saying that she missed her Period that that she was Pregnant - Damn f*ck.
I knew that was a scam because I always f*cked her with a condom and had never had an accident. But you know sometimes this sh*t can happen.
So I was f*cken emotionally wrecked for a few days think I may have made her pregnant. So finally decided after 2 weeks that I drop her an email and claim that it was not possible.
Then I got a resonse saying it was a false alert and that she really cared about me and that her P was late.
But man that kid of sh*t really f*cks you up mentally. So since then I am purely on a short term basic, even though I am single and don't have GF and sh*t. I am careful.
Thats my experience.
