And to think I started this topic because I thought Stick had some usefull insights. I have to agree 100% with A.B.C. that there are many warm hearted B/G who given half a chance with a decent guy who DOESN'T RUN AROUND AND BARFINE would make a fine partner to go thru life with. I've met a few of them Just because a girl a B/G doesn't mean she's a whore. I'm not trying to make saints out of the girls because I've met more then my share of hard eyed, hard hearted money grubbers.
As one women said to me Ms Pen, I'm a poor women who sells my body, but I don't sell my heart. Pooky started to cry: you must think I'm a bad girl because I work bar. Sticks article wasn't about BGs at all, that direction was started only in this thread. His point was about the materialism and socially competitive nature of Thai women in general. I find it difficult to dispute that Thai people are very material, and this is most noticeable in the young and those who live in the cities, especially Bkk.
It's hard to make a valid comparison as to whether they are more material than the same class of people in, say, NYC. It seems to me that they are, but I couldn't prove it.
What he said is certainly not an absolute about all Thai girls, anyone who says that or believes that you can make that kind of absolute statement is a fool. IMO, it is only slightly less foolish to bring up isolated examples to disprove his observation.
However, the point made by him and others, is that you had better be well prepared for it.

I don't think CJ's acidic assassination of Mykal is warranted by this threads' content and thus there must be earlier baggage infiltrating. It then became 'sad' mostly for it's seething implications. As a bystander i'm aghast at it's anger, and that's all. İ
I work with in a classroom with emotionally troubled kids who spend 80% of every day trying to push mine, and anyone elses button. For them it's "screw the learning I'm here to act out" Sometimes I read thread like this and think these darned adults and all their education *tsk, tsk* and still they haven't learned a damn thing! Hardest thing I've had to learn over the years was the "not reacting" to said pressing of buttons. So much so that I am now giving brownie points to only those adults capable of prodigious amounts of tolerance.
CJ, I respect you for many reasons, and on many levels. But having read all this I also feel for you, now that you've had your buttons so obviously pressed that your response was such. Please take some more time to react before posting.
As far as this thread has gone, from my observation, Mykal has some more 'evolved' experience in this matter, while CJ needs to do some homework still.

İAnd anyway, that's what statistics are is broad, specific and characteristic "generalizations" ie. 'average', 'median', 'mean', 'curve' etc. John NM is relaying his personal experience. And I too appreciate the positive of it, as well as the perspective.

This part of your response doesn't make any sense. What statement of mine do you think needs further statistics to prove? That young Thai girls are material? That they are more material than NYC girls? Or that BGs are different than non-BGs?
I'll stand by all of those statements, with various degress of confidence. I think all of them (except the NYC statement perhaps) are pretty obviously true, but if you want to take issue with them and have a reason why they should not be, I'll be glad to listen.
Although I doubt we can have a serious logical debate if you refuse to acknowledge the importance and relevance of statistics.

Mykal, from his very first posts, has been a loathsome exponent of the proposition that Thailand is a place for him to come and buy cheap junk commodities to sell back home, after haggling to death, and that bar girls are just another commodity for him to buy, and haggle to death. Those are (approximately) his words not mine.
Attitude, attitude, attitude. That's all this piece of shit Mykal has ever offered, and so when later it developed that Mykal by his own statement is black, well, he came into sharp focus. His attitude about Thai women, particularly bar girls, is not a Mykal attitude, it's a black American attitude and a reprehensible one at that.
SO, when Mykal chose to respond to my remark that he seems destined to die a bachelor, he responded that I (and I don't think there is anyone who will dispute that he meant me, individually) was "born to marry a bar girl" and again, I doubt anyone will argue he wasn't referring to my wife. Given all the negativity spewed by Mykal about bar girls as a supposed group, it was straightforward for me to deduce that he deliberately chose to include her in that group and therefore, subject to his past and present vilifications.
Now, you, skip, have a perfect right to conclude that my remarks to him after this point were unjustified, but, I must point out that it wasn't your wife being offended and insulted and therefore, this is really none of your f_cking affair, is it? So take yourself and your opinion for a walk. Take one of those deep breaths you are recommending.
