I've used TWD's "waiting for my GF" with success.
Unfortunately, early one evening I was sitting in Black and White Bar in Soi Cowboy with Khun Jeu Yai, just after opening. I say unfortunately 'cause most of the dancers were cuties and before we could blink, we each had two sitting next to us. Of course, our ladies didn't believe us when we I said I was waiting for my GF. They both had great attitudes and terrific figures! I was miserable, because the lady I was sitting with was a definite keeper. Just then, the mamasan from my TGF's ex-place-of-employment pops her head in the door and annouces that my TGF was waiting for me, just back from school. I looked up sadly and asked God what I had done to deserve this. Then we said our goodbyes and headed over to meet my TGF. The little cutie I left behind in B&W was stunned...

One suggestion, do not believe all you read here. Often the old farts are just joking -me included.
Regarding your question, do not worry too much. As long as you are not a total jerk and have some decent social skills you will do fine.
The girls are smart enough to know that you are just giving them a nice excuse while conveying to them that you are not interested. They will move on and leave you -sometimes they may not leave (hey! they have to occupy some space), but will just stay there -their body language will also signal that she is not there because of you.

You don't have to TELL them you're not interested. These girls are world experts at reading horny farangs' minds. You can smile ruefully, shrug dejectedly, deal with it in a 101 face-saving ways...
Start by being friendly but a bit distant. If she doesn't push off after a decent interval, start being inattentive and then ratchet it up by degrees. If she's still on at you by the time you're flatly ignoring her, she's obviously being a pain in the butt and no-one else in the bar will blame you.

I here that one. I have fallen for the beer goggles many a time and not just in Thailand back home in the UK as well. You feel even worse I think if you have to pay for it as well. That's why its better it happens to you in BKK as it will not cost as much and you will not get all the difficult problems in morning explaining why you do not want to see her again.

Instead of saying a flat "no" to a girl you dont like, how about telling her something like "i pay you a drink IF you bring me back this girl" (pointing on the one you want) ?
This would cost you 1 Lady-drink but would keep everyone happy.

At the beergarden one night I was waiting for a girl who I had called earlier to arrange the meeting and one girl approached me and asked me to buy her a drink, I declined as I didn't want my girl to see me with this other girl and said that I was waiting to meet a girl here. she walked off and about 10 mins later she came back and saw me still alone and wanted my to buy her a drink, again I said no, she kept on persisting and she was getting quite angry, she said I had a black heart and I agreed with her and told her to go away.
There are some occassions where the girls can get upset and angry it's best not to worry about these girls feeling and get rid of them ASAP, who needs these on holidays.
We also need to be polite to these girls as much as we can, if we are polite about declining their services they won't be as hurt as much, but if we tell them to f@ck off then they will get upset and the word will spread around the bar, you go home alone.
BTW my girl didn't show up, oh well ther's plenty more fish in the sea especially when you have the right bait.

This is what worries me, if I enter a bar and a girl I don't like apporaches me. What will happend if I tell her I'm not interested, would I still be able to pick another girl? I don't want to get any problems about her badmouthing me or what so ever.
