Went again in Siam hotel last sunday night, one of the places where we could get alcohol.It hasn't changed much for the couple of years I've hanged out there.Except for the room nearest the street which they keep closed now, at least at night.
I wouldn't bet there are many students in there, all girls I met behaved like seasonned hookers. Which doesn't mean sex was bad.

Another swing of nostalgia [or is it dreaming of rising to intermediate mongering?] brought me out last night to the Siam Hotel. I had a hunch, being it was the last Friday of the month and with payday another couple of days off the scene would be good. And it was.
Got there at about midnight and spent over an hour taking it all in. Downed two large Heinekens and a delicious bowl of Chinese noodle soup with seafood dumplings while I was at it.
The talent was quite nice for the most part. But that wasn't the amazing part - what *was* amazing was watching the waves of Thai guys coming through and checking out the talent. I'm talking speed mongering here- just as fast as fitness walkers walk- the punters would zip through the rooms in full-on scan mode and be out again in a flash. Very choosy they seemed to be, too. Whole tables of girls, passed over for the umteenth time would up and bail to another room or the parking lot en-mass.
I was really struck by how selective the guys were being- most didn't even break strides, let alone stop to chat up a puying here or there.
Then, as I left, and walked down Petchburi Rd. back to the MRT line at a little past 1AM I was amazed again to see nearly the full length of road from Siam Hotel to the MRT to be occupied by FLer's on parade, making themselves ripe for sidewalk pickups. It almost had the same feel as out front of Grace Hotel at NEP closing time. Simply amazing! And all locals focused, too.

I was there that night too so I might have seen you. Do you happen to be a tall guy with glasses. There weren't that many farang there and most were memorable looking characters. Also, did you happen to see the Thai elvis impersonator making the rounds? (not kidding) It's more fun to watch the stuff going on at Siam sometimes than it is to pick up.

Yup! That's me, tall, and with glasses. I recall seeing only two other farang that night- was that you with a non-caucasian partner that made a circuit of the front room and then settled in to a table in the back room?
Elvis impersonator? Was that the older guy in the dark blue vest? If so I failed to see the resemblance there LOL but that guy in the vest sure was a bpak waan- he worked nearly every table in the room while I was there. One smooth operator he was!  Soon as my Thais's up to it I'll be tagging along behind with a note pad in hand... 
PS- Istill can't get over how jammed the sidewalk was along Petchburi Rd. Many curbside pickups taking place as I passed by.

You probably wouldn't have noticed me because I look like a young thai guy. I mostly alternated between the lobby and parking lot.

If you walk the opposite direction from the siam lot entrance past the big food stall you'll run into lots of ladyboys working the curb. I noticed they also intermingle in with the regular girls as well. Buyer beware :D
If you check out Siam semi-daily you'll see the same girls working that scene. In my opinion quality wise it's worse than an average MP visit. Plus there's a lot of pimps (boyfriends, taxi drivers, and mamasans) around the girls outside which I can't stand. Even witnessed a darling moment when a girl handed over cash to her b/f right after coming down the stairs from a bonk session.

It was the first time i've seen him, it was pretty surreal but the girls seemed to get a kick out of it. It's a good gimmick.

I'd venture a guess that most are MP/Disco girls doing overtime the others are dedicated siam girls who work that scene exclusively. I've seen a few "fresh" looking cuties but they were hanging with the regulars and were snatched up quickly by the thai clientele.
