Been there, bought the T-shirt (really did), but after all I've heard about the Long Gun over the years, it was a major disappointment. The seats are too low, or the stage is too high, whichever. The lighting, of the stage, is the worst I've seen to date....Dance routines are so poor they make the dance numbers at the AngelWitch look like professional Las Vegas or Paris style cabaret productions. That toilet at the Long Gun is...er....un-usual, but TIT.
I'll go back to the Long Gun, but it is way down at the bottom of my list of places to visit on a regular basis.
Not my experience. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Long Gun and Angelwitch are in the same category for me. Some hot girls who seem to try as hard as they can to avoid making money and a decent number of cute, friendly girls to make up for them. Too crowded, uncomfortable, but I still try to go back at least once a trip for the spectacle.
I prefer Long Gun for two reasons. One, because there is a friendly server who I've chatted with on every trip, and two, because after 6 or 12 Singhas the unisex toilet is quite trippy (although I haven't been there since the fire, so they've probably "fixed" it). But that's just me.

i see your points and you are right about them, although I never really noticed, when I was there. probably because I just like the atmosphere.
i like the more relaxed a gogos with little hassle. the main reasons why I give aw a miss:
- it is often too crowded for me
- mamasan lifting up you bottle, if it is more 3/4 empty asking you if you want annother one. giving you the feeling that you should leave if you dont order more.
that never happened to me in lg. therefore I think it is more relaxed, and I like the staff in lg.
it is very normal that we like different spots and it is good this way. therefore happy sanooking....

Hopefully, that feeling goes away after you get more confidence and familiarity with your surroundings.
3/4 empty is a perfectly reasonable time to ask if you want another beer, perhaps it was her tone that annoyed you. I hate finishing a beer without having any assurances that the next one is already on its way; if I have to flag down a server to take my order then that's a knock on that bar.
I think it is justified for them to hassle you a bit if you're nursing those last few sips a little too long. How long is "too long" is subject to debate.

sometimes I am quick and sometimes slower with my beer, but I just prefer the order a new one when mine is finished.
I am not the type of person sitting in a establishment, enjoying the service, but not consuming. I absolutely agree with you that you have "push" these people a bit. at the end of the day, the bar has to make money.
this has nothing to do with confidence and familiarity of surroundings. it is a different style of service we like.

I wasn't trying to be critical. Just pointing out that different punters have different styles, and that the bar staff is typically not bright enough to pick up on that (so while the manager might have been doing me a favor she was being a pain in the ass to you). Places with great service can handle all types, but the Oriental doesn't have topless dancers yet.
this has nothing to do with confidence and familiarity of surroundings. it is a different style of service we like.
What I mean by confidence is just that you know you are being a decent customer and not a freeloader, so you shouldn't feel the least bit uncomfortable if the manager is trying to hustle you along. For someone new to the scene they may feel unsure of what is expected. For you, it's just a momentary distraction and 3 seconds less out of your life that you could have been staring at a nice pair of tits (which is a tragedy, but only a minor one).

Another thing I used to do is to tell the girl BEFORE I bf her what I expected. BJ, lick my arse, whatever, I made it clear what I wanted and if the girl said no, goo, this way I wouldn't waste my time with a sexual loser and a waste of an evening. We all have things we like so it is best to make sure when you take one home ther eis no misunderstanding about what is going to happen.
