Yurune is correct. I was qouting that noted sage and esteemed Thai language/culture expert. Okay...Keep in mind that working in bars for years and also going out many many times and eavesdropping on conversations when people didn't know I could speak Thai, living here for almost 2 decades I don't know as much as B1, but I can tell you what they call us; Brace yourself!
They call us...FALANG! If they know your name, they use that! Shocking I know, but try to live with it.

I fit into the same catagory as MrJoe.....and agree (especially with his Bignone assessment)....and can add....I've also know foreigners to be approached with the phrase EK-YOUZE-ME.....whatever that means

Trust your break from the PC and other things was well spent! Well, I agree, some of the stuff here of late has been very negative, but hopefully it's just a phase.
