In my understanding, a private letter belongs to the person it is addressed to, to make use of as he or she wishes. You take that into account when you write a letter to someone who is, after all, known to you and trusted by you to whatever extent you see fit.
I see no reason why should have to place a 'reserve' to protect your privacy from some nosy third party, wholly unknown to yourself, who feels entitled to intercept the letter, steam it open and publish the contents to the world at large. This is ridiculous.
What is the difference with hacking into an e-mail?
Yeah, ccvvbb, maybe that's the reason Arramsey is pissed. Alternatively, he might just be revolted by your uncomprehending contempt for the rights of other people.
As to these latest points, is there any reason why ccvvbb might feel himself entitled to have this girl spied on by a PI? I mean, is there anything more here than idle curiosity and a desire to snoop into other people's lives?

Some of the guys I agree with regarding TG's e-mail. ÝHowever, Ýwe all know the main dream of most of the bargirls is to get as many sponsors as possible. Cvb's only intention was to hook up with the girl on his next trip and he thinks reading the girl's mail has saved his cock.
Since the objective of his reading her mail was to save himself from infection, I would have thought that there was a simpler way of doing that, namely not hooking up with anybody at all. After all these thousands of posts that we have travelled on this board, it is basic knowledge that BGs have many clients because it is their livelihood.
Expatchuck's argument about developing long term intentions about a BG is another issue. To make a long term relationship work, trust is important, otherwise how could you feel comfortable in that relationship ? Assume you get to read all her mails without her knowledge, would you still be satisfied ? What if she were still f_cking around when you are not around ? There is no end to this snooping, guys. A PI's "clear" report, like any security agency's report, or an HIV report for that matter, only tells you that at that point of time there was nothing wrong. But, if you have not developed trust in her you would always be left with that niggling feeling and want to snoop on her all the time. Is that why you are getting into a long term relationship ?
The truth is we are in P4P. Go into the dictionary on this board to re-read what it means.

Interesting 'moral' debate but I kinda agree with what ccvvbb done.
Lets look at the unfair advantage most TGs/BGs have over us: we don't know whats in their heads, we dont know what theyre saying to their buddies in front of us (ok a few of us do). So what's a guy to do? Checking her e-mail every now and then is the great leveller in this case. And it seems to have saved a guy from almost certain acute prostatitis. These days that could well be the price of being sooooo politically correct.

I think you mean me expatjack and not expatchuck.
I find no difference in establishing a trust with a lady by looking in her e-mail or better yet hiring a PI, both are an invasion of privacy, but merely self protection.
I agree broadcasting a response is inappropriate.
Not all of us are merely there for p4p, some of us (ok, the not so bright ones as we know the odds) are looking for something more concrete and long lasting. So the generalization of p4p is inappropiate.
Checking a TG's e-mail might give you the peace of mind or information on how many sponsors, if any, the lady has before you get too involved. Or yes you can rely on "you're the only man in my life" if that suits your trust needs. These forums always say do your background research before getting too involved or better yet don't get involved at all.
As for continuous snooping, I find once you've established she's telling you the truth, the trust part of the relationship has begun and you can get on with growing with that relationship, why would you want to continue to snoop or have a PI to continue to snoop.
If it consoles you, I've read my TGF's e-mail twice, once after 3 months of seeing each other and then again after 6 months. Not broadcasting, but the only e-mails in there were all to and from me. I've also hired PI's before and again not broadcasting, the report back was "you two are the most boring couple we've ever investigated". So the trust was well established and we have had a long trusting relationship for 2 years now, so yes it does end, otherwise it only bores you or you give the PI an extremely boring case. And yes the trust part of the relationship was established after the first 6 months and the relationship moved forward.
I believe this topic is "players", why can't the men be "players" also? Sure we might be book smart, but these girls can do circles around us street smart wise.
Is it not fair to use your assets to even the score to find the truth and establish a trust?
