That article enlight me. Because first time I thought only BG doing cheating, but then all of them loved too, especially if found good f*** buddy. This explain me why so many victims (dead) pictures in local newspaper everyday without any solution :p
Honestly until now I am still difficult to forget her, the way she pick up me using her germany luxury cars, the way she treat me like a husband more than a boyfriend. In a Western setting, imagine that both the husband and wife played tennis but the wife was the much better player, she might seek a game with the club's No.1 player, just to test herself. Then, she may choose not to tell her husband about the match, so as not to make him feel bad about only ever being a so-so player.
Most of us, even if we don't agree with the pussy-footing approach, would understand and accept the wife's actions. She is not doing anything wrong, it is only tennis and she is being thoughtful and protective of her husband by not mentioning it. Case closed.
Now if we change "tennis" to "sex", then in our farang mind, that changes the whole situation.
My personal observations of the wife's former co-workers, about 20 women in a large company's office, would say that they would see the situation as the same in both cases - sex or tennis - the MOST important part would be that the husband not lose "face".
The attitude to sex and sexual prowess is simply different, far less emphasis is placed on it. I have heard Thai women mention their partners ability in bed the same way they might say he a good driver or a good tennis player, or that he has a good job.
They love their husband and would never do anything to hurt him but... (puzzled look)...what has that got to do with f***ing the guy from the 7/11 store? Enjoy.

Seems to be a common wishful thought of cheating men...
My point is that a woman MIGHT forgive her husband, but a man finds forgiveness less likely to be available in his selection of mental choices, a physical response too often being the first choice.
CG....I suspect most Asian cultures have allegence to parents as a far greater 'calling' than obligations to a husband or wife-Thai people not being unique in that sense.
And I also feel your understanding of the feelings of the cheated leaves out the initial pain of discovery--no matter what the final reaction is.
Often it is one's desire to understand the complications of culture that leads people to profile an emotional reaction as a national characteristic.

I agree that "kreng jai" and "boon koon" go hand-in-hand. We all have our ways of judging western people, but I think one good way to judge the heart of a Thai person is the amount of kreng jai they exhibit to you and to others. Watching it carefully can be an eye opener.

A Thai traditional wedding ceremony may be a dream for many engaged couples, but finding a perfect place for a dream wedding may be difficult.
Look no further. Ruen Joawsao on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road has helped many couples tie the knot in a splendid Thai ceremony with a reasonable budget.
Ruen Joawsao literally means ''house of the bride'', so the bride-to-be will become the owner on her special day, says Cheewan Puemphaibul, owner of the wedding business.
His two-storey traditional Thai house near the Ratchavibha intersection opened early this year. The new shop is an expanded version of the Ruen Joawsao Taopoon established in 2001, a shophouse-sized hall decorated in traditional Thai style that offers a Thai wedding ceremony at 24,999 baht.
Mr Cheewan, who is also the master of ceremonies for the wedding at both locations, said the business was established a few years ago to provide convenience for couples who did not have a suitable place to have a ceremony.
''Some couples have their hometown in the province and now live in a rented apartment or a condominium but want to have a wedding in Bangkok. So we offer them the place and arrange everything needed for the ceremony,'' said the soft-spoken master of ceremonies.
He has a vast knowledge of wedding ceremonies, from traditional Thai from different regions in the country to a Chinese ceremony. He has participated in weddings across the country for more than two decades.
Ruen Joawsao Ratchavibha offers a package at 49,999 baht that includes the traditional request for marriage by the groom's family, the Buddhist ceremony, the water blessing ceremony (or rod nam sang) and a buffet for 60 guests. Additional guests will cost 250 baht, and the place can hold a maximum of 200
Mr Cheewan has overseen traditional Thai wedding ceremonies for more than 1,000 couples. About half of them were foreigners marrying Thais, and others were both foreigners who appreciated the beauty of Thai culture.
He now can perform a maximum of two ceremonies each day, one in each location. He also organises ceremonies at the bride or groom's house.
''I had a personal interest in observing wedding ceremonies since my childhood, so I wrote my own manual on how to perform precisely the ceremony for different regions and nationalities,'' Mr Cheewan said.
He believes he can offer a wedding package at a reasonable price because his business is not a profit-oriented one. He simply wants to help couples enjoy a proper ceremony.

Going back to Minder's contribution regarding tennis ;
I've known many, many women in the West, thankfully long ago, who have devoted a large part of their day to the pursuit of tennis - some even many times a day - and to refining their tennis skills, particularly their serves and fore-hands.
They discussed their husbands' game with each other and with others and were more than happy to help him 'keep face', especially if his learning of their devotion to the game while he worked his arse off in a job all day, meant that the money supply, home, shelter, food, car, holidays, presents and treats would be instantly cut off.
The only differences here and there is the varying degree of guilt felt, ranging from enormous to none - here and there.

Well,
Sometimes Krengjai also have limit. I was watching Thai movie last night that title is "Ploy". Wife feel so annoying by the present of little strange girl in their hotel, she start walking arround outside to find some "fresh" situation, and end up with some strange maniac fans that try to rape her. But I like the way she saying as "I am still single" and try to take out her wedding ring. Not sure why thai woman like to act like that even good girl. Perhaps because "tennis" factor hehehe.

I was watching it alone. Never watch Thai movie with Thais. It so annoying. Better watch "farang" movie with Thai girl, so they will keep quiet (at least only one ex TG that so noisy during movie that she always talk in the phone).
