I think the recent conservative nature in Thailand has made the nightlife scene less fun and more businesslike. If you go to Jakarta, you will see the liberal attitude of Indo bgs and what Bangkok used to be 5 or 10 years ago.

this thread is so very typical of what happened to the forum in the recent past.
one of the better threads of this year is started.
he gets valuable replies, from longtime members I do not see post that often.
dg, starts bragging about his virility, and his 60K baht a week pimping business.
hypershade gets on his balls.
dg blows his fuse.
daffy tries to analyze (without much success)
ricesoldaten adds absolutely nothing
arramsey is offended by racist remarks.
LY is bragging about his giks and is looking for attention.
this thread should have done better.
therefore back to the topic:
very seldom will bg quote a price to me, I hardly debate ST or LT.
almost never am I in disagrement about payment.
very valid points on the first page. business became tougher,
punters probably more demanding (thanks to viagra etc. and bumf***ing).
expenses higher, the familiy in Issan poorer.
many bgs become addicted to drugs and alcohol. lets face it, you need to be on drugs or pissed to dance halfnaked on stage (I know).
I dont really think it is just the girls fault.
mobile phones?? I think they increase their earnings.

Most certainly isn't the girls faults, as I said I welcome the fact that they have empowered themselves to a greater degree, it's just the modern day product on offer isn't necessarily the version I seek. I don't complain about it, but I certainly don't have to partake.
Last trip, zero P4P, next trip, quite possibly the same.
As for this constant desire to get up some birds ass, well, I have my own theories about this, best left unsaid.

I agree with you that the guys who accept poor service in the forms that you mentioned, (star fish, LT / ST switch, overpaying, lady drinks etc.) get what they deserve.
There is only one area of your post that I will suggest a counter argument and it is this:-
and now some punters seem to think that is is their job to keep the girl happy in every way no matter how much they are paying her. Always make sure she gets YOUR moneys worth?? Crazy.
All I would say in defence of that type of Punter (me included), is that the transaction is between two human beings. Human nature being what it is, I have always found that if you treat others with respect and consideration, they respond in kind. This philosophy has paid dividends for me. My sexual experience is usually enhanced because hers is. Of course, it's also easy to argue that there is a great deal of personal pleasure to be derived from pleasuring a girl anyway. Do we apply tongue to groove just to give the girl pleasure? And if said pleasure leads her to reciprocate in kind?.

Hugh, I was happy not to feature on RTB's list also (but then again - how come WE don't rate a mention - !!??!!)
Read back through this posting and take a look at others on the forum and you can see a trend emerging - well I can. More and more often guys are prepared to accept below average service and then blame themselves for it. That's crazy.
I was too old, too bald, too fat, too unfit, I was too cheap, not good looking enough, I was too demanding, if only I had given her more money, taken her where she wanted go and been more fun to be with THEN she would REALLY have liked me. Yeah...right...I think we are moving away from illusion, which I enjoy, to delusion which I try to avoid.
I agree there is a lot of self-gratification to be had in doing nice things for others. It makes for a win-win situation. As to others "always" responding to respect and consideration - I'd say yes but there is a selection process - it doesn't work with people who will see that as vulnerability and try to take you for all they can. Enjoy

Spot on Minder. I agree entirely. If I ever detected that I was seen as a soft touch, or a BG tried to take advantage, I'd soon find a replacement for her.
Maybe I should have said usually instead of always, but personally, always is nearer the mark for me, so perhaps I'm lucky.

That is EXACTLY correct...I have always treated every lady as a potential LLT TIlac... in other words with tremendous respect and like a real GF. The ones that think that is a green light to leverage more and more out of me are in for a disappointment...those that pore on more and a better GFE cuz they truly appreciate my efforts in this direction will be greatly rewarded with more business and maybe even a bit of fun.

I had a very wonderful lady last trip. LLAM, an absolutely beautiful lady and she gave me quite a nice GFE. Then one day she tried to leverage me into buying her an expensive shirt...I paid her well, I fed her and paid her way into movies etc as well as being very respectful of her. I draw the line at shopping for clothes etc. That is NOT my job as I see it.
She continued to urge me to buy it...I told her I am a gentleman,I am Jai-dee but I am not an ATM. She was only with me that one last night and I cut her loose. She seemed very disappointed and I think she understood she had messed up with me and she hadnt done anything to try and make it up to me.

I had a similar but different experience, in my case the girl knew she would ruin it for herself if she pushed to hard but did so anyway:-
A few years ago in the days of my regular visits to Patong in Phuket I returned one trip in the middle of low season to a familiar beer bar and a former regular BG. Different bar owner but same girls. I had previously developed a soft spot for Wan because she never tried to be anything except a BG. Never wanted my email address, mobile number or told me she loved me. Just a damn good GFE for as long or as short as required.
On the previous trip she was already with a customer, so I'd gone elsewhere. Now she was free I told her she was booked for the next 3 nights at xxx baht per night - almost double her nightly rate. So over the next 3 nights I'd turn up at her bar, have a few drinks, pay bar and off we'd go. It started to get unpleasant - no sooner would I turn up at the bar than the pressure would be on to "ring the bell" (I was the only customer in the Soi let alone their bar - low low season remember), buy drinks for her friends, bet on something etc etc I resisted most of this easily enough but it was hard to relax.
Once away from the bar she was her old undemanding self but I was slow to work out what had changed and why. On the 3rd night, and 2nd beer Wan asked me for 200 baht to buy noodles for the other girls at the bar (who we weren't even talking to) - that was it - I told her I was sick of her chasing baht from me when I was already paying her so well - I paid my check bin, gave her the 200 and told her in Thai good luck, good bye and take care and left. I had been paying her day by day not in advance so she’d just cost herself xxx and got 200.
Five minutes after bar closing and hotel reception is on the line - two minutes later Wan is at the door - five more minutes and a lame story about it being her turn to buy the noodles and I start getting an explanation. By paying her almost double the going rate in the middle of the slow season I had marked myself in the eyes of the new bar owner as an easy mark "par excellence" - the fact that I spoke some Thai and was a regular meant nothing.
Actions speak louder than words and my actions had marked me as a mug. Wan had been under pressure to extract every baht she could for the bar all under the mean eye of the new mamasan bar owner. It was a lesson to me that even when the girl knows you are not a mug she may have to treat you like one if you act like one.
