Nokna - Sadly reading can not take the place of living and understanding. I suspect that was 90% of his problem.
Too much time spent reading about whoring around the world and not enough time spent trying to understand people. Why try to understand others if one is afraid and/or ashamed to understand one's self? Too often people judges others from what they see inside.

true that reading cannot take the place of living the experience,but it helps to go through some of the things written.
there are many members with much better knowledge than you and i and i have learnt many things from them.
there is so much knowledge to be taken in on this forum.
i have no real experience of BKK,but if i decide to stay for a while,i know i can go through the hotels/MP/bars sections and i will probably find out most of whwt i need.
but dealing with the girl is something you have to experience yourself.
we are all different.

For all the cynics ,
I would request you to go through my 2 posts in the thread "Bar Girl Stories" under the Topic " Misc.-Girls".
There is one girl who has given up her entertainment business life for over 6 years now and another girl who has done the same for over 2 years now - and both NOT for any huge amount of money . And they never moonlight ( or see other guys ) .
If one person ( me ) could find 2 such girls don't you think it possible that there are hundreds out there already found by some lucky guys or waiting to be found by some equally lucky guys ?
Sure - the business being what it is one cannot say that all girls are like this . But there is definitely a suffecient number of them for us NOT to treat them all like whores .

I think I'll frame that for posterity.
I always try to treat them as human beings and not prostitutes even though by our culture that is what they are. Recreational sex is common from what I have observed all over Asia. We are the ones who are taught that sex and love go together. Perhaps in a real relationship(whatever that is) it is. Sometimes I have been rewarded with this attutude sometimes disappointed. To an extent each is supplying a need. There again most of the trade is for non-westerners. Sauron quoted a percentage figure - I don't know how accurate it was but sex-tourists were a very small part of the equation.
I really wonder what happens to them as they get older if they have not found a permanent partner? Perhaps they just blend into the background?

imo working girls are more than just whores. sure there are those bg's who have been in this business for so long that they are numb to evrything else but selling them selves but most deep inside they are like any nonworking girls if not better ( imo ). if they really like you you can see the real person inside this shell come out & is very pleasant especially the younger girls who have just entered the business. treating these girls with respect really pays off ( imo ), this is when the girls drop their guards & go into the ( non bg ) mode, that's a special feeling to me & know the night is going to be a pleasnt one. just put your self in their shoe & ask your self what you would do under the circumstances...
tho i don't have nearly the experience as most of the regulars on this forum but thought maybe like a point of view from the " asian man " so there's my 2 cent worth...

First thing first, to find a pearl you should have good communication with her either you learn Thai or she speak good english or what ever language that you speak.
I am alway surprise to see some guy trying to built a relation with someone he don't understand when she speak.
