Sadly, I had to agree with you on this one. I say sadly because you would think that an objective discussion with littel aggression could be possible. But, then again I guess aggression = passion which in turn is good.

Well, it shouldn't really. Words are just crude symbols, and often the meaning is carried by the connotations people associate with them. With a multi-purpose abstraction like 'power', you're bound to get different people bundling together quite radically different shades of meaning.
'Prostitute' is a good example because the meaning here is precise, and really shouldn't leave much room for misunderstanding at all. But try using this word in the American Bible belt. At one level, it means exactly the same as it does in Holland. At another level, it comes complete with heavy pejoratives you probably don't mean (and don't want) to communicate at all.
Finding language to communicate with people who think very differently from the way you do is not at all easy. I suspect that's why there's this unfortunate tendency to retreat into ideological ghettoes.
At any event, seems to me that discussion and argument are essential for meaning to clarify. Surprising how often people who think they disagree find that they don't, and people who think they're on the same wavelength find that they aren't. Which is why consensus is the spawn of the Devil.

Mr. Yurune.......I agree. At first I found this dispute amusing so I wrote a couple of posts to allow the funny side to be seen.
But upon reflection and a couple of rereads of Mr. AlterEgo's post--it ain't funny!
I have seen this before on this forum which I tuned into as a guest for about a year.
Another thread talks about Expats...well here's an example again of us trying to do harm to our own.
Mr. Yurune...thank you for making me realize that sometimes on this forum, funny is just not funny.
I do not think that Mr haam sup has verbalized anything near needing the reaction by Mr. AlterEgo.
