I thought the Rodney entry was very entertaining, whoever is behind the name. It successfully reflected a social interaction not thought through, but blindly followed, as some newbies and, if the truth be told, a number of more experienced visitors/residents here also succumb to, and end up with the feeling that they have just had their nuts stamped on.
I thought the closing admission that the car was in fact a second-hand taxi was a good, hilarious touch and aligned itself with the idea of gifts that some foreigners think are O.K. whereas in fact they are viewed as cheap-skate compared with what a few of the hardened felines assume that every foreigner can afford.
Hopefully most people can manage to read the signs way before it comes to that stage, where the gift, acquired with much effort and considerable outlay is scorned by the object of adoration and/or lust.
It just means for foreigners to continually attempt to keep one's head out of the clouds and to see things as they really are. Hard for most of us, most of the time. Impossible for some.
That's why it is so good for experienced members to take a newbie on arrival and do the rounds and for the likes of this board to inform as much as possible.
Harzards and pitfalls there are. At every turn. And one has to be aware of them.
The danger is of course in thinking that every girl is painted in the same way. And this is definitely not the case. The skill to acquire, is to know the difference and then to act accordingly.

Unacceptable behaviour eh ?
Some time ago, I was wandering down Sukhumvit as one's loins sometimes demand and as I entered 7/11 just after Robinson's, two young girls came out of the door, one of whom, the prettier one, happened to be looking at me in the most provocative way as she sucked greedily on an ice lollie.
Now, I'm not a guy who gets easily aroused by such a simple sight, but I found myself making my own purchase pretty damned quick and making my way back up Sukhumvit to see if I could see this adorable little vixen.
To cut a long story short, I found her waiting for me outside Robinson's still sucking her ice lollie and looking at me with a most delectable smile and brazenly using her tongue to get more of the flavour.
I wasted no time and after ascertaining that she had time for me, we made our way to Soi 7/1 where there is a comfortable and clean short-time hotel.
Paid for the room.
Paid for the beer.
Paid for the condoms.
And then...................
I.D. card please.............
She had no I.D. card.
The receptionist looked at me.
I looked at the lady...girl....who was getting younger by the second.
Oh.....no.
Under age ?
How old ?
Are the police even tracking her movements now ?
Has the boyfriend gone to alert the local boys-in-brown ?
The receptionist said calmly, "She has no I.D."
I gulped.
I breathed hard and deep.
This creature was delectable.
I had to have her.
Would I be deported in the next few hours because of what I was contemplating doing with this young thing ?
Decision time.
Was it worth the risk ?
Damn those loins and that level of teresterone.
I am ashamed to say that they won out.
But unacceptable behaviour ?
Yes, I think so. And damned foolish.
It doesn't matter that later I learned that she did have an I.D. card to show me on another occasion and she was 18. But it could have been the other way round.
And I could have had that knock on the door.
Not again.
Never again.
Please.............
