What is bitch-slapping, anyway? Isn't it strange that he has to use cheap sexist word to fight for the and hypothetical grievances of some imaginary bar girls?
I can understand his being prejudiced against me. After all, I'm a Black homosexual moslem, so I'm used to it. But he will extend the same abusive language even to someone like X who had posted a very polite note.
He then says, "Everyone who thinks Simon a swell fellow, raise your hands... I don't see a thing. QED."
What a jerk! If he would just read all the messages on this thread, he would see that very few people suggest his totalitarian views, most want something reasonable. It is interesting that like all Nazis, his opinion of his fellow-men is so low that he is convinced that most will not act responsibly.
He says, "Oh yeah, and speaking of violence, if I could figure a way to commit bitch slappage through the monitor, NO ONE, starting with Saddam, and continuing with Chompoo, all the way down to you, Simon, would be safe." So you have it there, NO ONE would be safe! It would be Chompoo, several others and me today and probably you tomorrow. This is almost a text-book case of a hate-crazed, close minded, bigoted, fanatical Nazi.
That way I can also say that if I could find a way to kick his balls into a low-height geostationary orbit, using the monitor, I would.
As is common with slimeballs of his type, he now tries to suck-up to BK saying, "I AM beginning to regret the sum total of this subject, because of its disrespect to BK's house." Who has shown disrespect to BK anyway? Probably the only topic on which there is 100% consensus is that BK has done and is doing a great job.
If Ham Soup were to read Page 1 of this thread, he would see that BK had in fact seconded the proposal of a survey. WHY? Because it is a matter of common sense to get all the data before you start analysing it.
Yet this totalitarian Nazi (yes, he is a totalitarian and a Nazi and also a red-neck from a long generation of stevedores) wants all opinions that differ from his to be abusively quashed even before the inputs have come in.
BY all means let us discuss all possible options, but let's keep an open mind on other people's ideas as well.

I don't see where X has any less validity or right to comment than anyone else. There are a lot of things that I wouldn't do that are discussed on this board and I feel no compunction about offering my view. If X, or anyone else, is civil I don't see how it is objectionable that she contribute. Furthermore I'd venture to say that a "feminine viewpoint" is potentially a highly positive addition to the board and we are perhaps lucky to have it.
As for Kris; I see even less reason to criticize him. I have respect for someone who has ernough self restraint or discretion to withhold comment until he or she has something they want to say or simply until they feel like it. Especially when the comment they make is calm, civil and mostly regarding the general welfare of the baord.
Because someone has previously refrained from commenting (in a thread as heated and vituperative as this one or not) they must remain silent in perpetuity?

I probably shouldn't have expressed my annoyance with X and Kris, hence my 'weak moment' comment. ÝBut I explained how I feel about cheerleaders and those who wait until everybody else fights it out, and then blurt some gratuitous comment.

(re Kris's BK's and Pinga's latest posts.). I do really hope so. This seems to me like a reasonable middle ground that the majority of us would support.
I think this is cos we know each other for almost a year when the board was a place for sharing excellent experiences hosting civilised debates. No morons and no jerks insulting each other could be seen on those days. This does not mean that we agree on everything. Not at all. This just means that many members of the old gang and, gladly to say, many new members as well, were/are trying to manage the board as a civilised field for excellent discussions....just as it was long time ago.
However, it seems that these last months we were losing the battle. It is sad to witness sometimes few threads being spoiled by assholes thinking they know everything or by others that are very little tolerant that just shout and insult trying to impose their way of thinking or even aiming to diminish other's points of view.
I think that the success of any site has a price to be paid....it was time for bkk-tonite.
