I dont think YOU are specifically a fool DG; but I completely fail to understand any man who tolerate to mary and live with what you describe as a "dragon wife". Kids or money are not an excuse to let anyone ruin your LIFE.
My ex started to go apeshit after 5 years, I waited a few month hopping for improvements, and then one day enought was enought and I sent her flying out the door.
One month later I had met my actual wife.
The day my actual wife show any sign of becoming a control freak/fail to take good care of me (in and out of bed) /start to look like shit, this day I ll kick her out and will go looking for another one...i seriously hope it never happen as I really love her.
Life is short and I refuse to live with someone who would make me miserable.
Of course it goes both way so I take good care of her and do my best to age gracefully LOL

I can see where your coming from.....but each to their own.
I suppose being a farm girl ( in the true sense) we had a lot of cows and land to maintain and she was tough.
She saved my life once and that endears them...she also never left my side for 4 days when I was very sick with fever...slept on the floor and chair...
Dragons sometimes help slay demons.....I had a few that needed slaying....
But in the end they won.
My message was implement common sense if you find a diamond girl....don't as I did treat them as glass....they are not easy to come by.
But she wasn't a control freak...maybe just moderated my drinking where she could.
She certainly took great care of me, and her simple approach to family was something I enjoyed.
I hadn't met anyone like her before and though she was a dud in bed, I would gladly have her over others as what we had seemed more worthy than the pleasures of flesh.
She and I shared a real marriage of faith love and trust and care.
I will forever be disappointed in myself that my longer prospects got dashed by my dick....
But I guess your outlook is more practical in a sense.
Trade them in like I do with Yamaha engines for the latest models...
Though you still butterfly at 50....the time when you want to settle down is not far off.
