Govt to prove its ability to keep law and order during next few days: PM
Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva Sunday vowed to take drastic actions to show that the rule of law will prevail.
He said his government would spend the next three to four days to improve the situation and return normality to country.
He said he would prove his words with actions and management.
If his government fails to do so, the persons in charge will take responsibility.
He also urged public cooperation for the government's plan to strictly enforce the law to return the normality to the country.

So Abhisit has "lost face" per another article in the Paper. The country looks foolish and now the government "urges public cooperation with a strict enforcement of the law to return normality" - anyone have any views on what we might me in for?
The reality is that the government would help itself enormously if it charged those behind the months long seizure of Government House and the closure of Suvarnabhumi & Don Muang airports - instead it will focus on a crackdown on the leaders of the red-shirts - which will simply re-inforce the view that Abhisit is a puppet of the PAD and its supporters.
Anyone else think this could all end quite badly?

Heck ! does any government worldwide actually listen and perform to the immediate wants of its people?.. USA govs are so split up.... 50 states go in one direction while Feds Congress goes the other, while local villages towns go down broke!... nothing really ever gets resolved as to the immediate issues and needs affecting the social or economic sectors.... just mediocre bills passing resulting with public tax raised money thrown toward an average direction.... only the corporations with the capital and know how raid both public and private contracts funds getting richer.
Face it ! the banks and the G-20 really F'd things up and did themselves in by allowing the Toxic asset financing by the investment banks; 20:1 debt risk leverages,CMOs CDOs..... they shot the whole wad got rich and tossed the socialized losses our way! Wall Street, London, Hong Kong etc.....now are pension and savings investments and business capital assets and cash flow needs have been cut, frozen, and devalued so bad that many people are going bankrupt and will continue to protest against their govs till changes take place restoring good faith and good credit for all to prosper, not just the super rich.
Communism, Socialism, Facism, Capitalism, Militarism ? none of them work for governments wholey.... a county's people wont have it...... they will always be conflicting dissent and strive for change even under pure police powers with scare tactics and guns pointed at our faces !......
My question to the Red and Yellow shirts ? where is your representation in the democratic parliment ? thats who you should be protesting, if you let the city state of Bangkok rule over the other villages towns there will be dissent forever..... get reallocation of the provinces with equal representation..... just as USA villages counters big city NY LA Wash DC etc...same ol same ol ! powerful cities think they have one supreme voice over the rest of us... and to the rulers or governors that dont listen and do as the people wish.... Viva La Revolution ! protest, boycott and throw the politician bums out !.......control the extreme Anarchy though too many die ! You dont want to be entirely lawless Somalia ! or extreme Burma with tank guns pointed at your villages either !
No one government doctrines are best in this world; none ! we all get the average, when tax money gets reallocated ! too few handouts for too many people's needs ! our cities and countries have grown too damm big for tax and corporation supported basis... inflation and cost of operations and maintenance increasing yearly ! just too much economic overexpansion causing the greedy not to remember to share with the poor folks that built your counties and made some very very wealthy!
Like past history has shown when a country's middle class and poor go bankrupt and completely loose out ! Bastille Day! Viva La Revolution !

There were just some protests that year and some shooting but there was no Elvis involved in this. Are you saying that you expect the situation now to get into the army shooting at the red shirts killing few 100s of them? This is very bad... !
