NOTA DE PRENSA:
En relación a informaciones que circulan en medios internacionales, el Consejo de Comunicación y Ciudadanía aclara a nuestro pueblo, que luego de la visita a principios de este año, del Ex Primer Ministro de Tailandia, Thaksin Shinawatra, nuestro Presidente, el Comandante Daniel instruyó al Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, acreditarle como Embajador de Nicaragua en Misión Especial, facilitando así sus gestiones para traer inversiones a nuestro país.
A fin de cumplir su misión, el Ex Primer Ministro Shinawatra recibió el pasaporte diplomático correspondiente a su alta investidura.
Como es sabido, Thaksin Shinawatra fue electo democráticamente, por la mayoría del pueblo tailandés, y luego forzado a abandonar su cargo, con un Golpe de Estado, en el año 2006.
Actualmente el pueblo tailandés está luchando pacíficamente para restablecer la institucionalidad y el Estado de Derecho, y facilitar el retorno del Ex Primer Ministro Shinawatra a su país.

Key sentence is:
"A fin de cumplir su misión, el Ex Primer Ministro Shinawatra recibió el pasaporte diplomático correspondiente a su alta investidura."
Which from what I read Babel Fish translated as:
"In order to fulfill his mission, Ex- Prime minister Shinawatra received the diplomatic passport corresponding to his high investiture."
Which is the right translation. Although the rest of the translation is poor, and I have many doubts about translation engines, it surprises me how good it did with that sentence.
So yes, he got some sort of passport. Is it good to travel? That we do not know. Some "diplomatic" passports are just good for show, but not good enough for travel.

Could we please have somebody who actually SPEAKS and READS Spanish, as in natively, provide a translation, not just some guys who can type in the URLs of questionable translation engines? I could have done the Babelfish route myself....

The rest of the letter is irrelevant. Irrelevant as to the fact of getting or not getting a passport that is. You didn't ask why he got it. Just if he did.
No need for anything else. Or didn't you understand what I wrote the first time?
