Agreed, but the fact that they have not been able to execute even a single operation outside their own tightly controlled home turf is telling. Agreeing that it's just a matter of time, and that Thaksin's taunt doesn't help - though from a strategic point of view, what better way to get your enemy to rush and make mistakes than to taunt them (not that this is what Thaksin knowingly does - I do believe he's about as arrogant as he claims these insurgents to be incompetent)

One of the first things I learned in Terrorism 101 is that terrorists are portable.
Maybe the ones in Southern Thailand have not learned this but I'd bet they know how to get to both BKK and Phuket.
I honestly believe it is a matter of time until something is hit in BKK, Phuket or Pattaya. Phuket is the likeliest IMHO due to it's proximity to the Southern Region and the fact that the logistics of moving people and equipment is easier.
I am certain the terrorists know what a flap was caused when Bali was hit and they also know that another ripe target is sitting just off shore.
Soft targets abound in LOS. The government of Thailand hasn't even begun to make their targets harder to hit.
Remember one thing about the "incompetent" terrorists. They only have to be right once!
