Well said Shamas.
I had a similiar experience at Heathrow, your an Aussie are you chum ( yep ),,your ancestors spent months on a boat to get out of this god forsaken place, why would you want to come back? ( good point, I immediately headed home, via BKK).
I've travelled extensively throughout Thailand and Vietnam and been involved in a few ???? lets say "skirmishes", but nothing that made me feel as though I was in real danger.
Going out in Sydney is often bad news, over the years I have been in more than a few bad situations ( I contributed to maybe 10% of them).And several times I was in REAL danger.I guess that is why I choose not to go out much in Sydney, except the odd restaurant meal, or a few beers with my mates. I save my partying for BKK, or Saigon.
