Using the Wiki, search under Thailands political history and read read away, its been evolving ever changing under the coups..... from sole monarcies and military elitist controlling the populace prior to 1932, 1960/70s USA presence Viet Nam be dammed days with surrounding communism takin over VN, Cambo, Laos in 1973 -1976 uprisings, 80s-00s economic expansion to present.... Eight political party factions with two in majority control its legislature with a PM from majority rule by vote.... Thailand like the rest of the worlds governments have political divisions of thought ?... its sad to see too many coups brought on by petty in house frat clique arguments and no small compromise within governmental bodies sessions and progress of goals stated where the hard working tax payers moneys should go to? public works or welfare etc.... PHD and Masters educated in house fighting over simple money re-allocations.... use the priniting presss / USA fakes it enough! poor folks need jobs and money to spend at Big C ! Divisions of thought ? big big city or small small village folks... we all have needs and ideas where tax payers money and resources should go.... Defense, Economic, and Social needs all come to play....when only one direction gets most monies attention..... then factions aurgue leading to more and more petty divisions snd public protest ! Internal Anarchy or Civility ? a true question for all governments worldwide

Things were very stable in Thailand for 25 years or so until the yellow shirts ousted a democratically elected government a few years ago because "they knew better" than all those poor voters in rural Thailand. The yellow shirts took to the streets and occupied the airport in blatant and illegal acts of anarchy and extortion. What goes around, comes around, and once the toothpaste gets out of the tube, it is very difficult to put it back in again.

The army charging at protestors and firing shots "over their heads"? Hmm... where was this decisive action when the PAD occupied Government House and the Airports of Bangkok? Fortunately the uneducated masses won't be able to see the hypocrisy..... or maybe?.... Of course Elvis will know what to do.

There will always be political upheaval in Thailand cos Thais just cannot get along with each other. My office is like the Thai parliament. I should actually post an email discussion between my operations manager and my accountant. What a cat fight. What's more, this is small stuff compared to my first job in Thailand when the Thai-Chinese monkeys treated the workers like slaves then rather than fire the staff when they wanted to cut staff, they had them arrested for 'gambling'. What Thailand does need is a foreign leader. An Aussie or a German. That'd sore em out.

Read the Reds Shirts are being recruited from the poor in the countryside for a 3 day stint to participate for meals and 500bt, some admit their heart and soul isn't into this mayhem but they need the money. One taxi driver was paid 1000bt to help block an intersection Of course it was the same M.O. for the Yellows with one big difference, the Reds are paid in real baht, the Yellows got a lot of counterfeit

Quote from the BangkokPost: "Red shirt leader Natthawut Saikua told supporters the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship would use Government House as its final protest stronghold and urged supporters to mass there to deter a crackdown by government troops.... He urged protestors elsewhere in Bangkok on Monday not to clash with the authorities..." At last, it seems, the government is acting tough, yet with restraint. With the imposition of emergency and the military moving in to clear the streets, it is remarkable that yet not a single death has been reported. This is crucial to retain public sympathy and support for the authorities. The new PM seems to be learning fast and, with a little bit of luck, should strike back at the instigator. Seems amazing that ordinary Thais seem so willing (happy) to be taken for a massive ride by a mischief monger who has spirited away his wealth and his family (in that order) abroad, ensuring the safety of his own ass while endangering his supporters' lives. What next ? Official pressure on all countries hosting the mouse to send him back home ?
