Its all relevant to the stage of development of your country. Consider the HR of the USA, Australia and others in the early 1900's up to 1970. Not the best, maybe cleaned up now and now now able to cast stones at others less fortunate in their economic development.

I expect that in 10 to 20 years from now the west will criticise the accounting practices and business ethics of others, once off course, the west has cleaned up its act.

Suggest Thaksin buy advertisement space and re-run the footage of Gov. George Wallace, KKK and friends, a few times, on CNN or better BBC, because they are always right.

Take it from the USA. I believe the opposite will occur. Kerry will landslide win over George W. Bush. Kerry will take New Hampshire, Tennesee, Missouri, and California as givens. If you look at the primaries (google: Green Papers) you will see the Dems have a 4 to 1 margin of voters over Bush so far in nearly every state. Bush is finished in November...it will be a John Major style defeat. Don't be surprised if Kerry wins 40 states to Bush's 10 states. And don't be surprised if you see a Kerry/Edwards ticket to take in North Carolina, South Caronlina, Georgia, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. It's more than just show, its all math. I even think Bush *doesn't* want to be President for 4 more years. Now that is a show.

On the issue of PM Thaskin's reaction, it is directed solely at Bush's behavior in Thailand during his visit, the entire visit.

The Thai PM is a very smart man and he knows world sentiment against Bush, only to be backed up by Bush's behavior as an ignorant American. So expect much better US/Thailand relations come late January 2005 when there WILL be a new US administration, a better administration, and a more opened administration. It is not a probable win for Kerry, but an expected win for Kerry. So I strongly recommend expats who "write in" to vote. Do it.

You can always consider the fact that Bush's proposed constitutional amendment on Gay Marriage is based on the fact Bush has never seen a katoey in his life. So, expect California's liberal republican govenor and his Kennedy wife to say "Get Out" to Bush come November. It is so obvious, one could get an A+ writing it as a thesis.

Mr Alan
So let me get this straight. If Kerry wins, the US State Department will not criticize Thailand for Human Rights abuses anymore (assuming that they occur in the future) ?

Another thing I wonder about--if you are so sure that Kerry will win, why is it so important that expats vote? Sounds to me like you are predicting a landslide?

Voting in the US election is a powerful right. If you don't control politics, it will control you. So be heard.

Mr, Gyaos:

I was wrong on the Early Closing thread. That was not the most idiotic post ever written. THIS ONE IS!

You have risen to new depths and should be congratulated.

I particularly like your analogy about the gay marriage issue. Are you saying that if Bush had at least "seen" one katoey in his life he would be in favor of gay marriages?

The mind boggles at the thought what would happen if Bush had actually ever spoken to a katoey. There might be a new constitutional amendment requiring cross dressing for all students in Junior High School.

That means you would have to wear a dress to Jr. High School tomorrow!

In closing, are you referring to Bush, only, as "an ignorant American" or does your crayon cover all of us as "ignorant"?

And how will Kerry's election affect Cambodian beggars and soi dogs?

A passport that became better than a USA one was the British one. Now I think that those from Canada, the Scandinavian countries and Switzerland may be ahead in terms of being welcomed universally.

yep, the swiss.

I just dont see what relevence any of this has to this forum...

Many members here (members - used in the broadest possible definition) are extremely sensitive and find the above debate irresponsible, degrading, vulgar and depraved.

Many words such as 'Bush' are used completely out of context and without explanation.

Please refrain from allowing politics to demean the integrity of this forum
