Broken leg,,, I wonder where this miss-conception comes from regards culture. Surely as arguably the "oldest" or at least second oldest culture on this planet we have a huge head-start of the new comers from Europe etc  .
Peter Brock was a true champion in all facets of life but especially in motor racing where he was almost unstoppable. I remember in the early 80's the "un-cultured" Europeans sent down one of their best drivers with a V12 jag to race against Brock,, what a joke, car didn't last 10 laps and was already near a full lap behind Peter Perfect.
Similiar was tried by our American brothers with a camero,, same result, couldn't handle the pace and complexity of a truly testing track.

Thanks to all those who answered my question. This is indeed the Grieving Mates Support Website. Not sure what it has to do with BTF but then again, maybe sex and death, it's almost to trivial to mention...
BTW, and this is an honest query, had Peter Brock ever raced out of Australia/New Zealand? I am asking this because although I have a strong interest in motor sports, I had never heard about him.

nah...you are right.....absolute racing great...which is why none of us....even those of us who have lived in Australia have ever heard of him.....
