A sad day indeed. 
In my job, I deal with facts and not assumptions or idle speculation.
One fact is that as of 23:18pm the BTS overhead trains are still running although they are quite empty...
Part of my job is to conduct Threat Assessments and come up with contingency plans...
Does anyone know if the MRT is still operating?
One would think that in a time of national crisis such as this, and given that the military is in charge of the government, they would have a contingency plan to halt all overhead and underground train services… Especially in the light of what has happened in the recent past in London and Madrid…
Unless they know something we don’t…
I myself feel sorry for the children that have been affected by this unspeakable act of cowardly violence either directly or indirectly.
And I would like to propose that we (BTF) members act together as a group of concerned individuals, and set up a collection to help pay for the injured persons hospital bills... Or at least try to do something for them...
Does anyone have any suggestion as to how we can accomplish this?

I just did the BTS hop from Asok to Nana. Not busy, but then it isn't at that time. There were however guards walking the carriages which is not usual and obviously looking for packages left in corners near doors.
At the Landmark I counted 11 guards on the way out, more than the usual three or four, and car being searched, taxis not allowed up to the entrance.
At NEP there was an actual guard at the entrance and a no parking barrier, although at least one m/c was let through.
At the Bier Garten Soi 7, one policeman on the door.
That's all the differences tonight, apart from increased barfines and half the girls missing on holiday.

It's only a matter of time until someone claims that this is the result of Saddam's execution.. If someone wanted to target the Americans (who are, as usual, blamed for Saddam's execution), why target only Thai assets? I'm sure Hermie will figure it out.

I don't know about this gentlemen, but the news channel i-tv says some intel says there may be as many as 30 bombs total, many to go. Sorry if that sounds just a crazy rumor, I'm just trying to report what I translate from the terrible news here.
