Agreeing with you, Dr. A quick look at the executive suites at the hotel web site should end any speculation. Checking in at the Nai Lert tommorrow and gonna try and use my connections with the GM to see for myself. I find this whole thing really upsetting - my father died in a Bangkok hotel room last year.
After the shock, grief etc, my one fear was if he had been with "someone", and could I take the shame if he had. I think the hotel staff sensed this, and together with the Police etc, they all went to great lengths to assure me that he had been alone. They told me that they had watched the CCTV of him going into his room alone, but they would not let me watch the tape.
I think this thing could be quite common in BK and perhaps the truth never gets out in most cases. Afterall, it would be another cross against the tourism box if guys are getting killed in their Bangkok hotel rooms.

My father spent almost his entire working life travelling to the Far East (hence my love of BK etc), but in his later years he didn't travel as much.
I decided to take him with me last year as he just would not let go..
So it was basicallly a holiday, although he still had some contacts here and there.
I don't think it was unusual circumstances and the medical reports suggest natural causes, but this actor thing brought back very bad memories and I must say that the hotel and police seemed to have things pretty tight and only offered information when pushed.
So having been in the exact situation I know the feelings that the family are going through. As for the photo, whether fake or not, that f'ing sucks and shows to everyone why Thailand can be such a lowlife country when it wants to be.

No worries...
It's hard to guage the police reaction, because at the time I was in a complete daze etc. Its just afterwards you start to question things, especially when even the Embassy made a monumental cock up....
I do have questions and problems in my mind that I can't resolve... but not really for this forum. All I would say is that I was not satisfied with the Police and just felt that they wanted to put the matter behind them as quickly as possible. It must be the same for any farang with limited Thai - very frustrating to deal with the Thai Authorities, who have completely different attitudes to ourselves. I do have a Thai wife, but she was up North at the time, and so I had to deal with things until she came the next day.
