Quick up date from what I know about this. Been hanging out with my thai girls and the ones in Soi cow boy tel me that places like Afterschool and Toy bar after next month will not be able to provide those extra sevices any more as police will be in 2 three times a day to check, is this part of a real big clamp down? One of my long term female thai friends

There have been lots of reports from the brothers that there was no serious changes in LOS on the March 1 and March15 deadline dates but things are starting to definitely sound a lot more serious for the new April 1 deadline.
It'll be very interesting to read the reports made on April 2. Peace

I have also heard from a couple of sources (not totally reliable) that all bars clubs etc must apply for new licenses - with, of course, new times applying to these new licenses. Again all this is supposed to happen in April.
The only good news is that it still seems to be more gossip than reality - no-one has said for sure that the new times will be enforced in April. On that basis, we should just assume nothing is going to change.

The implication from the person who told me this was that licenses were not really 'lifetime' but had to renewed annually like thai driving licenses under the old scheme.
...and that when you renewed your licenses you would be subject to the new laws. This guy was one of the owners from the now-defunct 'LaLuna' so he wasnt a total bullsh_tter.

All with an existing license will be 'grandfatherd' (spelling..?, I might had a few tinite,) within the 'old' laws. Renewing will not affect this process. Previous closing times will not be influenced by this license system. The fact that the new application fee is 50.000 B might be a reason though.. ( all of the above is not to be said about Phuket, closing times will definately change there as of April1) /
