Murders in Koh Chang affects tourism and was published
A murder in NEP would only affect sex tourism and lets be honest......would they stop coming?. I doubt it, AIDS never scared them off, various other stories (rumours usually) never did, they gotta get sex somewhere.
and surely the board opinion of Thaksin would suggest he'd promote that story....no?

I think you ascribe a bit too much importance to Nana -- while certainly (maybe) of import to sex tourists, it is unlikely that most regular tourists know, or care about it, or insist on Nana being on their itinerary. I would hope that Thailand has other tourist attractions of higher profile than Nana, and it's kinda frightening to think you consider Nana as such. Not get out much, do you?

Unfortunately during SongKran this past year I had ringside seats to an ALL THAI street brawl. Needless to say it was totally ruthless compared to farang fights. Everyone joined regardless, and an unconscious guy had his head booted like a soccer ball a few times.
A Farang will get his ass kicked when he thinks he is only going to fight one guy, but half a dozen thais jump in.
A Farang will get his ass kicked if he ever gets taken to the ground, as all that Thais know how to do is kick. Go to the ground, and your head will be kicked many times.

Did it happen in Soi Cow Boy?? There was a thread about a very nasty fight there during Songran, with many claiming that the guy died, altough no proof about it. And yes, thais seem to easily go over the top when they start fighting... very unfortunate if you end up in the wrong side...

Im bringing the kids next time and waiting outside, f***ing Falang discrimination there never again.They get in free anyways.
Never been discriminated at NANA PLAZA though  so im sure i'll be visiting again in the near future

Why farang discrimination??...yes...that could be described elsewhere, but not I think at Wat Phra Keow.
Frangs pay to get in to Thailands biggest tourist attraction....fair enough?..not expensive and Vinmanmek thrown in as well....
but should Thai's have to pay to get into the most important temple in the land?....I think not.

The issue is not that they pay, but that they pay more (ten times more the last time check a national park). I do boycott all places applying double pricing like national parks, Wat prakeow boxing stadiums etc... At least in thailand we have the choice, in Sri lanka and Burma it's pretty muck take it or back the f*** away as all their hotels seem to practice double pricing...
uh... it's not realy a boycott but I don't spend much in Casanova either...
