Funny you like to link the Iraq war with the US trying to get our hands on the middle east oil. Then how come oil prices have gone up to over $60/barrel since the Iraq war ? Who is doing the b.s. here ? yeah, maybe we should take over Saudi Arabia, then the oil price will most definitely go over $100/barrel then.......smart thinking

The folks that claim that we went to Iraq to get their oil just really show their disconnect with the reality of it -- mind you, I didn't say it was a war OVER oil, but rather the SU certainly did not just grab the Iraq oil reserves (though, I feel, they should have).
The ever rising price of oil, manipulated by OPEC with absolutely no other basis than keeping their own pockets lined, pretty much proves that.

Not OPEC, they have been putting out more oil this year than last. The problem is the oil speculators in the market that are using the general public's poor knowledge, fear, and lack of common sense to keep prices rising. Eventually when the time is right, these speculators and institutional investors will dump oil futures and they will crash. The current line they are using to keep prices up is that Chinese oil consumption will continue to grow as its economies expand. This is not my own idea but that of several industry experts that track the market.
Recently however, one of the big investment houses in HK recommended that their clients begin a controlled sell-off of oil futures as estimates indicate by the end of the year that Chinese oil consumption should drop dramatically as several coal-fired power plants that are being built or are under maintenance come on line and oil-fired power plants get mothballed. Also as Three Gourges reaches full capacity the Chinese Government expects to have an overcapacity in electric generation that could be sold to Laos, Vietnam, and LOS thus leading to more oil-fired plants to be closed down in SEA.
To summerize, in the long-term oil prices will drop and stablize and anyone invested in oil futures at that time will lose their shirts (not the speculators or institutions, they are beginning to sell already).

None of the current oil infrastructure is damaged/destroyed by natural disaster or accident.
The DPRK will not start a nuclear war.
The the Kyoto Agreement will not go into effect causing the Chinese and Americans to close coal-fired plants
That people will stop listening to those stupid radio commericals that promise enormous wealth if one drops their pitiful life-savings into oil futures (these are the people who will lose their shirts).
Comment: This post has little to do with terrorism in the UK but I am hoping to head off another stupid thread-f***ing based on the Oil and the US's intentions behind the invasion of Iraq.

1. The Bush-Iraq war is about oil. We all know it. Daddy Bush was man enough to admit it, boy Bush thinks we are all dumb enough to fall for his BS. It's about protecting the Bush Oil interests.
