A local chef has landed himself in hot water with local Health
Authorities however no charges are likely to be filed. German
transplant Chef Klaus Von Fleckenstien has agreed to cooperate with
officials and answer allegations that he was serving Smegma at his
local German Bistro here in Bangkok. Von Fleckenstien has stated that
he enjoys preparing Pork Schnitzle with Spaetzle topped off with his
own Smegma which he lists as his favorite dish. There is no evidence
against him that would indicate he served Smegma tainted cuisine to
his guests.

reminds me of the 'urban legends' we have in the UK (possibly Worldwide) about Chinese and Indian Restaurants.
they say you must not piss off the Staff as they will spit and wank themselves and cum in your meal......

Having worked in the restaurant business myself, I can assure you that just about anything you can imagine can and does happen behind the scenes. The vast majority of meals go out unaltered, but a few get the royal treatment one way or another. If you want to lessen the risk of eating something disgusting or even potentially harmful (like spoiled food, insecticides, or various solvents) then you might want to avoid making complicated requests or sending your food back in a restaurant you are not familier with. If a dish doesn't come out the way you want it, consider just asking to remove it from the bill instead of sending back. If you're a regular you don't have to worry as much, but nothing's ever guaranteed.

One chef told me that one should always see the bottle of wine uncorked. Never have a caraf brought to you !
I've heard some 'National' restaurants are worse than others. I leave you to guess?
Open cooking areas that the public can view are often a good idea?

Careful on 'planes as well lads. I knew a trolley dolly who said she put Phenol Thaline in a passenger's drink who she felt, "needed to be tought a lesson". One can never be 100% sure of the veracity of such claims but she went on to say how she used an eye dropper and how she only put two drops in!!!
