Land purchase through Thai spouse forbidden: Land Dept
Phuket land ownership /legal title crackdown... Land Dept tryin to straighten out its database to collect even more tax revenues probably
The individual residence owners / farang - Thai marriages that will get blamed punished first.... theres many Thai wives that used farang husbands money to purchase property...
While the deep pocket commercial real estate interest can afford to buy their way out... its the Thai provincial districts that own most of the over developed commercial interest anyway...the land dept should go after that sector first to collect prop taxes
Then there is the Thai farming vs Thai forestry dept title ownership issues segregating poorer small rai farmers from major corporations interest.....
Rent; get a lease in nice place and just move if issues occur... theres plenty to choose from.... houses and condos at good long term prices...theres a Property Glut !.... View Talays everywhere in Jomtien now..... nice smaller baans too
Why buy at over driven /farang marketed high prices now?
SinSod the money to the family then theyll give back to wife for property purchase this will circumvent the direct money illegal matter.

Actually, this looks like a great excuse for any farang who's wife is pressuring him to buy land/house in Thailand.
