Finally,I arrived Bangkok airport in the afternoon from China. My pre - scheduled GF was at the airport to receive me. Hotel was not booked as I was not sure if & when I would be in Bangkok. First tried in Mahattan in SOI 15, but I was not satisfied with them and their Spa is closed down due to lack of Business. So, moved in to Town lodge immediately. Checked inn, and went out for food, since they don't have a restaurant. Also went to buy water from 7 eleven, they did not have any bottle left. Had food in an Indian restaurant, and bought 4/5 bottles at 35 Baht each. Slept for 3 hrs and went for oil massage at Butterfly massage on the same soi of Town lodge. Had a good oily massage in two separate cubicles, with a happy finish quietly. Came to the Mexican restaurant, opposite to Town lodge. It is a very good restaurant for the price you pay and the owner is a very friendly guy. This morning, going to Hua hin by mini bus from Dusit Thani. Will stay in DT Hua hin. Rest in next.

If that's a local brand, they are definitely making a killing!

Bimlee, hope you don't plan on returning to Bangkok any time soon, the main highway is expected to be under in the next 2-3days, and as Thonburi, Nonthaburi and pathumthani are flooded you may well find your break in Hua Hin longer than you expected.
Also, I just left there last Monday, (actually I was a little further South in Sam Roi Yot) the place is heaving with Bangkokians and expats alike, all who have fled Bangkok, hotels are real busy, and when I was there, my hotel had water but 7-11's and petrol stations did not.

7-11 is selling 500 ml bottles of Evian at 39 B each. Slightly cheaper there.
Not in the Bangna area BK, we're all out of bottled water round here, even the chap who was sitting outside our office with a pickup full of water bottles has disappeared !
In fact even beer is cleared in most the 7-11's round here!

My fear is there is some terrible underestimation of the monster outside your doorsteps. Take care, guys. But don't forget to read. We don't seem to see many updates from bros living there. Meaty, Madfrog have given some clues. But, may I humbly suggest, don't make the mistake of underestimating what you haven't seen.

Bangkok subway at risk from advancing floods
By Anusak Konglang (AFP) – 4 hours ago

BANGKOK — Thailand's worst floods in half a century reached the edge of downtown Bangkok on Friday, threatening some underground rail stations and forcing the closure of a major shopping centre.

About 20 percent of the capital is now submerged in floodwater contaminated by rubbish, dead animals and industrial waste, raising fears about outbreaks of disease in the densely populated metropolis of 12 million people.

The slow-moving water is now just a few kilometres (miles) away from business and tourist districts, despite reassurances from the government that central Bangkok would be spared.

The floodwater arrived at the Lat Phrao intersection on the northern edge of the city centre early Friday, prompting the closure of the Central Plaza shopping mall.

A spokesman for the Bangkok metro said that three subway stations -- Lat Phrao, Phahon Yothin and Chatuchak Park -- were at risk and might have to be shut down if the water rose to 40 centimetres (16 inches) outside.

"We have deployed officials at all risk stations to assess the situation hourly," he said.

Nearby Chatuchak Weekend Market -- a popular tourist attraction -- will re-open this weekend at the request of traders, but officials have warned them to be on alert for possible flooding......
