How would you like a Top 10 chart for various categories, such as soapy massage parlors, oil massage, bars, clubs, hotels (which could be further broken down to 5 star hotels, girl friendly hotels, budget hotels), apartments, etc?
Got this idea from the Massage parlor thread.

would be interesting if you keep the ability to vote dynamic and open at all times.
yes, there would be space for abuse, but I think for realistic topics, it will dynamically show the trend of which places suck, improve, get better, etc...
A good example would be Spice Girls, and Shark, for example - used to be less than stellar, and have now gotten pretty good. Ditto with Suzi Wong, which used to be great, and now just drifts along.
Such charts would give a far better idea of what's what.

Perhaps one thread for nominations and one thread for votes
OR
one thread for each of the categories, and members can nominate their favorites and we can allocate a point system for their nominations. We can allocate a scoring system based on the position and frequency of nominations.
e.g. Member 1 nominates the following bars
1. Shark Bar
2. Spice Girls
3. Fanny's
Member 2 nominates
1. Fanny's
2. Moonshine Joint
3. Bacarra
Member 3 nominates:
1. Bacarra
2. Long Gun
3. Cactus
How would you list the top 7 bars in the above example?

The thread with point system, BK, sounds good, but I think it would increase your workload immensely to have to update it consistently.
I'm really not very tech savvy, as they say. Is there a way to write in a multiple choice program on the forum so we could select from nominations, and it be computed automatically?

You wouldn't. Get a script that handles such charting.
Forum software ain't the hammer, and everything's not a nail.
Managing a 'top 10' list with just a thread becomes tedious, and eventually will not be used.

Perhaps Top 10 could be a bit too ambitious... as there will be some categories where you would have less than 10, BJ bars for example.
