Just a thought,
maybe thay have those prices for soda, orange juices and not alcoholic beverages because of their many arabic guests and many of them don't drink alcohol.
And as someone else said it's a bar and not a charity.

well, these towel-heads can be most hypocrites. Seen them with my own eyes in trendy London night spots, back in the 80's and early 90s ordering vintage Claret wines (decanted away from the crowd) and served in tea cups as in to appear they were drinking tea. And some of their older women folks, burka clad, drinking G&T in open clear crystal glasses, pretending it was lemonade on ice & lemon.

i keep forgetting to write a report about my last visit to this bar in Nov.2007
so now since I have the time here is a shorty
went there in the early afternoon (only obviously too early after I entered the bar) and found NO one there! only 2-3 bar maidens 
had a sat on the bar, a beer and a few games of pool with 2 of the girls,we talked a bit and they told me I was way too early for fun and so I asked for a menu and order a beefthai salad.MISTAKE! the meat was soooooo tought it was like eating rubberbands. but stupid me I ate, smiled and taled more with the barmaidens
then out of nowhere a middleaged/older "middle eastern " (?) guy comes in  ranting and raving yelling about some payment, being friends and how he was going to kik the shiite muslim outa some guy. another bar patron just nodded and spoke with him. he must've been the owner or manager because he then picked up one of the stools and began smashing it on the ground! after he destroyed the seat (which took a while) he retreated to what I can only guess was his office. the girls sweeped up his mess, smiled, smiled at me a shrugged. they just said "he must be MAD". ooooook? I paid my bill and said my goodbyes. they asked me to come back and I gave the obligitory "sure". 
What got me to finally write this report? I guess seeing Anthony Bourdain on the Travel channel in indonesia made me nostalgic

Must be the neighborhood. They are such nice, friendly faces all over the place.
