Hi I am thinking of renting a 2/3 bedroom house/appartment in Bkk and/or Patong. Would any members be interested in staying at it? I would have to charge 8000bhat per week, and NO you dont get food, drink or a tg in the price. In Bkk it would be in the Suk soi 7 to 15 area, so close enough to the action. In Phuket it will be in Patong, about a 10 min walk from Bangla, I will have to rent it out for about 36 weeks a year to break even, do you think this is acheavable?

1. How do you collect the rent? 2. What about furniture? 3. Bedding, towels, kitchen equipment, dishes etc.? 4. Who would have final decision on house rules? 5. What if a guy wants a TG to stay in it? 6. What about security? 7. How many front door keys, who has access? 8. Is there a rental contract? 9. What happens if one guy does not pay the rent? 10. What happens if YOU do not pay the rent? 11. Who looks after maintainence? 12. Who pays for repairs to damages? 13. Are you legally able to sublet? 14. What visa arrangements do you have that would alllow you to be resident in LOS over the year period of your lease, in order to manage such a proposal? 15. Who contols long distance telephone costs? 16. How would the cleaning schedule work, for basic things like the kitchen after meals? 17. What rules are there for overnight stays by TG's? 18. Will you background check potential renters? 19. What are the laundry facilities? 20. And finally..did you even think anyone would consider renting from you without your being able to answer all these questions and more....first? (PS...UKMod, this list took me 5 minutes to write, imagine the many other questions guys will have once they give the proper time to think about it....By the way, one more question for MN....Are you going to live there?)

I hope that answers your negitive questions. It looks like you have thought I am looking for a long term renter, I am not, just lots of short term stayers, and I am sure there are quite a few members here that could be interested, unlike yourself! BTW, in the real world this is what I do, I have a holiday rental business that is web based, I have been able to run it while I have been here.

Along with your uniformative answers to what most guys would think are reasonable questions, nobody likes a landlord with a bad disposition. And here is another question... Seriously UKMod, if you don't handle this stuff in a proper way, you could get yourself and the poor bastard that subrented from you in a lot of shit......you still can rent a place and "invite" for a while a friend to stay, but in the long run (even short if you are unlucky), someone will talk too much and you could have the MIB knocking on the door.....

I would suggest adding secured, wireless high-speed internet into the deal, and you might get more people that bite. Heck, I'd consider it for a week or two during a stay, if it did. Harry

I'd be far more interested what he pays, rental, for a 3 bedroom house, total, in BKK. At $800/month in rental fees, I'm assuming that pays for his rent of the place.... What do houses of this size sell for in BKK? If I were thinking of doing rental deals in LOS, I'd buy a duplex or triplex, and rent out 1-2 of the units, in the same manner instead, and instead build equity... Harry
