This may sound like a dumb or stupid or gay question, but I’m looking to meet a couple of guys to adventure with threw LOS and maybe other parts of Asia.
No I’m not looking for some guy on guy action but just some other guys that are open to travel, p4p, fun and excitement to hang out with and find some trouble with.
All of my friends back home look at me with some weird looks when I talk about a big trip threw Asia, and ask why would I want to, or think its way to big and scary, and the one or 2 that would be open to it just don’t have enough $.
Is there some guys on here say 20-45 (im turnen 30) that are thinking about a trip to LOS and possibly other countries for some fun in the next year an would like to have a couple others to travel with? And I mean everything thing from scuba, to girls, to ruins, to wats to whatever else.
I did my last trip by myself, which was a BLAST, but was not so fun while doing the touristy or travel kind of stuff. As well in numbers you can get a little more hammered, safety in numbers I guess... For the life of me I still can’t remember how I got back home, I guess the hotel card in the pocket helps! If anyone remembers my FR from 04 you will know I had some fun and got into some trouble…. I had to remove them because the misses found the posts somehow, and lets just say it wasn’t pretty and VERY costly.
So the long and short of it, is there anyone looking for some buds to travel in LOS, be nice to chat get some ideas on what to do and where before hand to make some general plans and go do it!

Good idea to look for someone. Also good to meet people as you travel rather than stick to the same crew.
The few people you may meet that want to do the same as you just might be total dweebs. I mean imagine placing a 'wanted travel buddy' ad out there and you get a reply from MrUpNorthKnowItAll.
It would be hard to find someone that you do not know from Bertha and end up having an incident free great time.
Might be best to meet individuals as you travel to differant locations and hook up there for mutual fun. Then if they become a pain, you can just be on your merry way without any hassles.

Hey SomeCDNGuy,
I know what you mean when you say you get that "weird" look when you talk about traveling to Asia. Usually, those are the kind of people that are content with their once in a lifetime visit to Mexico or Hawaii.
Not to discourage what you are looking for, but to kind of mirror what Alifco was suggesting, you might want to just meet people as you travel, instead of going on some big trip with people you really don't know. Maybe schedule your trip around one of the RTs and go from there.
Or... manage a way for one of your $ lacking friends to somehow get the $. I know I've done that in the past. And the individual I convinced to scrape up the dough had the time of his life and has now been back to the LOS 4 times. It also convinced him to move to South Korea, where he now has complete access to Asia and has been taking full advantage of it. I'm so proud... but jealous at the same time.

I think your problem is going to find guys who want to do tourisy things, and also mess with the Ho's.
It is probably easy to find guys who just want to party and f***, just as it is to find geeks that just want to do the tourist thing. Finding one who wants to do both might be hard though.

I'm a little older than that, but this trip I'm on my own.....be in BKK the second week in april, plan 2 weeks. Next trip is in September. I always play it by ear once I'm there, no need to make plans, other than hotel, and airfare.......lol. If you want to do it, buy your ticket.
It doesn't matter to me if i'm by myself, or have someone with, because I'm never really by myself.

I always travel alone to LOS and would not have it any other way. I enjoy meeting other mongers but after a few beers and a chat I prefer to move on. I really can't see the advantage of a travelling companion, you will not be alone for very long in Thailand ---- unless the money runs out of course.

Thanks for the replies. I do know what you mean by having a lot of fun by yourself. I had a lot of fun when I was there…. Some could say to much that can end me up in trouble. There was one time when I played the old Egypt – Israel (similar to Homer Simpson’s Australia- America Game) game at the border crossing….. Anyone ever have a Uzi pointed at you on your right and a ak47 on your left? Then there was when I borrowed the scooter ummm after a night on the town in BKK…. There was a time I rented a jeep in Libya, go it buried in sand, caught a ride back to town with some bedawins, and gave them back the keys with a lat and long for where it was at…..
I seem to find trouble a lot while haven fun, just be cool to have someone to travel with to keep each other out of trouble, and allow safety in numbers. The by myself thing does work and I do have a lot of fun, but im kind of surprised I haven’t been shot or put in jail longer than a night.
The girlie companions can make a very enjoyable time, but it seemed to me there was always some $ here and there and a lets go to the mall, and things along those lines that took away from it. I did find one very nice gal that I had some fun around town with that $ wasn’t a issue.
I think planning to be there around a RT would be a good idea. I was there for one, but kept missing everyone for the night trying to chase them around so never really met anyone, although I did met Steve W I think his nick was, is he still around?
I guess for now ill keep it open to go by myself, but im alays open for good ideas or experiences to maximize the fun had. Do people here just go for the p4p?

In a word ----Yes. If I want to see places of religious worship I can go to St Paul's Cathedral, if I want to see Elephants I can go to the London Zoo, if I want good beaches I can go to Cyprus.

I agree with coolbreez, whether its europe, brazil, or asia I like the uncertain attraction of traveling alone. (before I got married LOL!)
While traveling my suggestion is to hit British pubs, theres one in every city. I am american but I have found to get the best tips you always meet expats/locals at British pubs.
