OK, Bromad, seriously:
I've got to fall in behind JHJ. Too much effort in an attempt to be cool/cute:

Yeah, MY old friends hit me in the face when they say hello...and I LIKE it! Not.
Many examples of this 'turn-of-the-phrase' emphasis over honesty. And although you already said it's not polished, little things like subject-verb agreement, and, yes, spelling should be FIRST among your priorities, if you want people's reviews to reflect the CONTENT of your piece.
Since it's so early in your story, I guess I have to reserve judgement as to whether there IS a story, but I suggest you start looking for some truth to tell.
Still, congratulations on your effort. Your task is really only just begun...
