Thai Town is between Sunset Blvd and Hollywood Blvd. - just east of western. Take the 101 freeway to Hollywood - get off and go right for about 6 blocks.

Hmmm...I wasn't thinking of stripper bars being on the agenda, just Thai bars and restaurants. There happens to be a strip club right in Thai Town: Jumbo's Clown Room. A local institution for over 30 years, Jumbo's is as close to a neighborhood bar as a strip club could be. It's a small dive, similar in size to some of the small bars at NEP. Dancers wear pasties and panties, allowing them to serve alcohol -- which you'll need, to drink them pretty. Some fairly unattractive talent here, but also an occasional cute riot grrl. Supposedly the club where Courtney Love danced before she formed Hole.
Besides strip clubs, we could also travel 5 minutes south to Koreatown (got your attention, ABC?  ). K-Town seems to have 10 times as many bars and clubs as Thai Town. We could spend loads of cash there, but I also know a few bars that we could hang without being hit up for said load. I once spent nearly $600 on booze and food (mostly fruit) for me, a buddy and 2 hostesses. My bud spent half as much on tips for the hostesses, the mamasan, the K-J and the waiter. And we didn't even get any action.
Here's an interesting story that appeared in the LA Weekly earlier this year about K-Town nightlife.

once I did see a friends brother and his business partner spend 5000.00USD on a girl and did her in the back room.
this is LA CA, there should be plenty of regular girls running around town looking to get laid.

Here's my rule on strip clubs - if you invite me, or encourage me to go, I will politely decline, and in the same breath add $200 to my LOS piggy bank - then, when I get to BKK, my deferred pleasure will certainly pay off manifold
Works for me since my first trip.

I read that article twice and got the impression that those WERE regular girls in those bars, they were there to be 'matchmade'. On the other hand, the writer (female) went to a bar where the men worked as hosts...care to enlighten me, AM bro?

You're suggesting AM moonlights as a "host"? Stay away from my model friend!
BTW, I've been to Le Prive. It really helps to know a waiter there who can hook you up -- one who can get you a good table, who can convince a girl to get "booked", etc. It's also helpful, but not required, to go with someone that speaks Korean.
Harry -- You might make an exception for Jumbo's, just to experience the place. No cover, rarely anyone tempting enough to get a lap dance from (which aren't worth it anyway) and drinks are reasonably priced. You'll probably spend less here than you do at Que's. At times it feels more like a neighborhood bar than a strip club. Being women-owned and managed may help with that vibe.
