p4p was only one factor amongst many that enticed me here.
You are the exception to the rule then, take P4P out of Thailand and 95% of male tourists would not go there.

The first time I went to LOS was to do some low altitude trekking. A medical condition I had at the time meant that I couldn't go to Nepal as I usually did as the thin air of the Khumbu would have been too harsh for my ravaged oesophagus. Some friends recommended I try Thailand instead and so I turned up in BKK intending to head up to Chiang Rai after a couple of days sightseeing.
Five trips later and I still haven't been to Chiang Rai or gotten any closer to trekking than walking from Nana to Cowboy. The p4p scene may be one of the main reasons I keep coming back to LOS but it certainly wasn't the reason I went there in the first place.
